Tom Hartley has a white one for sale with delivery miles. POA Wonder how much.

I saw one at Le Mans this year finished in black. It didnt stand out in my opinion the two tone versions look better. My only opinion is will it depreciate rapidly. Its a new fangled electric hybrid and as mentioned already BMW M3,M4,M6 Values tumble.

Wonder if this will go the same way. We will see.

Lots of new supercars coming out soon as well.

I think it's going to hold it's value incredibly well for the first few years. No idea about batteries how long they last and how expensive they are to replace (that will hurt residuals in the future I assume) but it's clearly a car that has a huge amount of interest....I think Jalopnik just gave it the highest ever score in a car review.

I had an i8 over the weekend and started a thread about my views:

Anyone know if the FYA can be applied to a used i8, or does it have to be new? Can't see why it would but worth asking...

The BIK is the same, so I don't see why not.

Well the wording is quite suspicious:

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/capital-allowances/fya/basi...

FYA are available for expenditure on a new electric car, or a new, unused car with CO2 emissions up to the threshold.

Is that 'new' to me? Pre-reg? Or brand new...? I'm considering buying a used example in the new year through my company with very low miles as I'm far too impatient to wait 6 months. Also is there any minimum ratio of business miles to personal miles that need to be done? I'm happy to massage the truth a little to the taxman if needed, but in reality I'll only be doing about 20% business miles

Sounds from that wording like it needs to be new to qualify. No problem on the business miles front that I'm aware of. You'll just have to order a new one and be patient like the rest of us! laugh

By the way, six months, have you had one on order for a while already? I ordered mine months ago and it's still six months away.

May I ask how much yours cost? I can see new ones for sale (brand new) for £120k odd which obviously has a markup but if a new one with a 6+ month wait costs £110k, and your company rather than you is paying for it, it's worth considering imo.

I was quoted 8 months in July so just assumed it had dropped since.... Evidently not. Honestly 3 months is my limit, I've waited that long before, it was insufferable biggrin

I paid list. With the specified options, it was £102k after the £5k grant was applied.

Ok, thanks. I may just wait, if the lead time has reduced then the prices for new ones 'in stock' should start to fall. If they get a little nearer to £105-110k I think I'll bite. Were you quoted any FMGT?

I'm a bit sick of waiting to be honest. I'd be interested to hear what they tell you the current lead time is, because if it's really six months now, that must surely mean mine might come early.

Future Minimum Guaranteed Value or something like that... Basically the price it will be worth in X years. Normally you only get those with finance agreements like PCP and as you bought cash it's unlikely, but I just wondered if they gave any indication where prices will be in 2 years time or however long you intend to keep it for. Probably didn't, if they are wise in case you walked away! wink

I emailed a few leasing companies to find out if they have any 'near stock' ie with short lead times. Unlikely but will report back if they do.,

Just FYI, autocar.co.uk are quoting a £55k price after 3 years. Not sure how they decided on that or how accurate it is, but something I'll give to my accountant.

Probably not far out, but with something this niche, there's no way of telling and I'm not going to spend much time thinking about it. I'm looking forward to seeing what they launch next, because I've got a feeling the i9 (as some are calling it) is going to be a serious piece of kit.

Agreed. Do you happen to know if the VAT can be claimed back also? As it's a cost I would assume so.

I had an i8 on test for 24 hours, the other week.

It's an interesting thing, but having spent some time with it, it's more a 6 series competitor to my mind.

Although I've not driven a 430, I have owned a 360 and 458 and I don't think it's even trying to compete with them.

So in answer to the OP question, no.
