Navtrak- thoughts pls
Discussion
My navtrak subscription has just expired now the car is a year old. Just interested in people's thoughts as to whether they have/haven't renewed their subscription. I have return to invoice insurance as well. Guess my current thoughts are it isn't cheap to renew, and if the car was stolen would I want it back in any case.
Appreciate your thoughts as to how you came to your decision, thanks

Had my bike stolen twice. In relatively short order.
Once got it back in 45 mins.
Once it took a week as it got taken to a gipsy encampment and the cops weren't prepared to go and get it.
They got it when it was moved - presumably the thief thought the tracker battery would have run out by then. They'd removed the actual battery.
Both times the tracker people were brilliant. Much, much better than the police.
Anyway, the point is, that you don't want the person who steals your car/bike to get away with it.
If every car bike had a tracker there'd be a lot less vehicle crime.

i had a tracker on, for insurance reasons as many of you would too i suppose...and when the car was stolen, the tracker lost sight so quickly it's ridiculeous
i got a call from them to tell me the car was being moved...and that's pretty much it, after that it was gone
gone for good and never returned to me
makes you wonder why we pay so much for their services
note: will i subscribe for their services again? yes if it mandatory by the insurance...but wondering why

What system did you have Thrasher?
Last year I got car out the garage, waiting on my wife with engine running and went back into the house with the tag in my pocket,10 mins later I was on the A14 phone rang and as I was driving my wife answered, had to pull in at first layby as they insisted on speaking to me, they thought I had been car jacked! While I was in the layby a traffic car pulled in.
The system I have is Navtrak.

My 458 Spider lives on a 4 post lift in my garage above another car. If I forget to open it with the tracker card in my pocket before I lower or raise it, the alarm goes off. The number of times I've had to apologise to Cobra for doing that since I got the car in May! They ring within 2 minutes typically.
Insurance or no insurance I'll always have the tracker active. No call? All is well. Relax.

All of my cars and motorcycles have NavTrack. For insurance purposes - but also peace of mind.
I would say, however, that when I was parking my motorcycle in an underground car park, which was basically a faraday cage - the tracker would continually poll, but not get a signal/response - so it would flatten the batty in two days!
Unless you will be parking underground - I would totally recommend it.

I used them when mandatory, but stopped this year when they didn't ask for it.
The cost far outweighed the insurance saving and if the car gets taken, I'm not sure I want it back.
I'd use them again, but I would want to get the option of paying for a lifetime as I think its dear to pay annually.
