Go for an MC shift. Suits the car well, in my opinion. If you can find one with the MC line sports exhaust, sounds , you'll not be disappointed! But either way, you'll love the car. Good luck.

I agree with Anjum,

Drove the auto and might as well been in the other halfs X6. The MC Shift brings this car to life. Loved every minute of ownership and would have another someday.

Oh and the noise from the MC Shift is so much better.

It was one of the cheapest cars to run service wise I have owned, 12k or two years from memory.

4.7l so like to visit Shell outlets regularly.

Agree with s99ane - all works surprisingly well. Tyres are entirely down to your right foot smile Only negative that I can find (I'm on my second GrandTourismo in 18 months) is the sat nav - its bloody awful........But it does the GT thing with aplomb!

You'll not regret it.

Enjoy!

This is mind any point. The full auto is a daily driver. The MC shift is more sporting and an event to drive.

My parents are currently looking to buy a Gran Turismo S, for them I think the Auto is better suited as they would use it more as a GT, the Auto is higher geared so makes a better cruiser and better on fuel. Depends what you want I suppose, best answer is to try and drive one of each.

I had full auto but think I may have preferred the MC as mine wasn't a daily driver.I did get the loan of an auto with the sport pack which is a good compromise if you prefer the auto over MC as it gives the more sporty exhaust note at lower revs. The MC comes with minor tweets such as darker lights etc so its worth trying to see both side by side if you can.

I have the MC-Shift and echo the above, suits the car very well and does not really compromise the GT aspect but makes it more sporty for those time when you want to let rip. That said, I have driven the new Sport Auto and was very impressed, changes very quickly either up or down and also blips the throttle. It is almost as good as the MC-Shift without the worry of clutch wear. The regular auto was a little tame for me but the new Sport version is now so close that it is worth serious consideration.

I've had a 4.7 Gran Turismo S for a few months now, and was able to do a lap at silverstone with it and 205 other maseratis at the Silverstone Classic.

A few minor issues, when the windscreen cracked last week AutoGlass couldn't change it as some screw heads had been rounded off, the rear parking sensor fell into the cavity of the bumper when being washed so it's off to Marenello next week and the estimated costs are pretty steep.

But the noise, in manual and sport is amazing and makes me smile every time I drive it. Mrs Windsorphil loves it, Windsorphil Jnr loves it and lots of people like it. When using it in Auto, makes driving very tame and easy in London. A great car.

It is new MC Stradale, with the rear seats and all options ticked. It lives in central London and is used as my daily driver. Works around town very well and also does long distance very well. Spent a week with my daughter schlepping around the amusement parks and racked up 1,000 in 4 days. Very comfortable place to be, with a great sounding engine.

Its a slight improvement on my 2012 Grandturismo S MC-Line, which I loved (again with paddles not auto) and went all over Europe on Touring Holidays (with luggage and shopping on the way back!), however, I'm not convinced that the MC Stradale is a GT3 rival, as it too big and heavy. I brought the GT-S in 2012 as the MC Stradale (at the time) had no rear seats, which didn't work for me.

Only criticism is that you can't have front parking sensors on the MC Stradale, which is just crazy, as the face lifted GT has a Stradale inspired nose cone with front parking sensors. Just being Italian and Bonkers. Im not sure how I ever used to park before the advent of parking sensors!

How are you all finding yours?

I have had three years in a GTS Auto and love it. In auto or ice mode it is an easy ride but in sport manual it does a good job of being a fast GT car. These cars are too heavy to be seen as sports cars so think 640i/650i rather than M3/M4. Hence why I think the MC Shift is a misplaced gearbox in this car.

Can anyone advise how you know if the car has a sports exhaust - oval
Pipes or something else ?

Even dealers get confused between slush box and automated manual - annoying

4th year service - Christ! Out of context with car new price but I guess low vol
Dealers need £

Really fancy a blue or red auto but need the sound
