Hi All,

Would really appreciate some advice / guidance on the approx costs of 2 year service?

Is main dealer the best option and justify the premium over an independent in order to retain the value on resale?
Am I going to get any benefit at all if selling to trade / private?

Or would a good Independent be able to achieve the same / better level of service but at lower cost?
What would the implications of an Independent Service History be at re-sale time in later years?

The car has only 1300 miles recorded and I am based in Cheshire - so any options / comments would also be really welcome

I'd take it to a main dealer - the car is too new to do anything else.

If car is within warranty go main dealer but get discounted rate via servicethecar.com

Main dealer will have access to any recalls & upgrades

Cheers for the positive response and good advice - and apologies for the infrequent posting!

Anyway you may infer this was also my bias towards main agents and so far been quoted 1476 GBP from 1 source located in Leeds.

Will also follow up the suggestion with service the car - and see if any significant variation on this quote or other options closer to my home.

(The source in Leeds was also the supplying dealer when I purchased the car so hope that means I am getting some preferential treatment! Guess I will be able to find out soon)

Just booked mine in with them - very good price by all accounts, with covered transporter collection and delivery thrown in for less than you've been quoted?

Thats very interesting....was assured by the Specialist Service Manager that it was "his best price" and some 32% less than the offical price.

No mention of covered delivery etc - but to be honest I would not expect that over that distance but something to think about if there are options closer to home.

Would you mind to define the price range you were quoted - and assume this was not based on any previous history of buying cars from them or using their service facilities?

Appreciate the heads up and just want to ensure I am comparing "apples with apples"

btw > still waiting for main agent contact from servicethe car.com but up to 3 posts now! (need to have a lie down :-)

Service the.car didn't work for me either but assume the price being given on the site was from dealer in Leeds as it matches to the penny what I was quoted (pre discount). Sent you a PM with prices
