Incredible. Loving the 4-plate carbon clutch. Looks awesome. Out of interest, did SICOM supply this to you?

I remember talking to the CEO of SICOM that some Mclaren F1 customers enquired about fitting carbon ceramic brake discs to their F1's but the idea sort of fizzled out. The weight saving would have been around 5kg per corner if I recall correctly too.

It's amazing that the F1's halo effect hasn't diminished after all these years.

Mine is lacquered, although I have seen some that are not
Excellent, I can see that in the recent interior photo, it's clearly a lot more glossy than the one I have. Thanks and I love the cream leather, the contrast is perfect!

I think he's referring to the Flemke thread whereby everyone was a sycophant towards Flemke and he was treated differently to anyone else on here solely because he had an F1.

The packaging on the F1 is incredible; the 3 seat layout, central driving position, the luggage storage, CoG, tiny mass and footprint - totally unique.

Makes me wonder why no-one else has ever attempted it. Is there a patent on the design layout or are people just afraid of being called copycats?

Legislation has put an end to the 3 seater layout I think, I'm assuming it's due to regulations about how close a wing mirror needs to be mounted to the driver or something.

Not that the F1 is the only central 3 seater, nor the first wink

Bloody brilliant cars though

absolutely couldnt have said it better!! The car was and still is a total masterpiece, i wouldn't need another supercar with one of these in my garage.

If Gordon Murray ever gets his city car built it will have a similar seating layout

They really went to town on it, did you have a new seat fitted? I remember reviews of old saying the brakes are not the best, are you changing them Gavin or are you happy with the standard stoppers?

No servo assist on the pedal, same as f40 and xj220. Someone in america has developed an electric servo for the f40 which apparantly transforms the car. I noticed in a recent article murray says if he had the chance again he would of redesigned the pivot point for the brake pedal to effect more leverage, this is as close as murray comes to admitting a mistake, I suppose if you design f1 cars for a living you believe your own bullst.

Yes.. yes I am.. never ever have I seen anything like it as cringe worthy as that, He is treated like Ramesses the great,if you dare asked a question without offering your first born you would dishonour him and get banned. That is not the case. However, many still offer themselves/children before pledging a question requesting the colour of a wheel nut or SHOCK HORROR suggesting a change to the car. smile

Everyone on a forum is equal from a RR to a F1. (by RR I mean Reliant Robin)

anyway.. I have strayed off the topic of the car.. Which is fantastic, keep the photos coming - and don't look at your bank account.

Great thread Gavin, many thanks for putting up the pics. I'd love to see it in the flesh- would you consider taking her to the supercar event next year?

Hi Gavin, out of interest would you say better in that sense than even the Zonda ? Or are you talking as purely an art form, I only ask as I have yet to see anything better put together than a Zonda
