Well I got up early this morning and went driving smile

Parking just off chiltern street in central london isn't really considered 'driving' you know...... wink
Sam rarely gets away from Kings Road so I'd disagree, Marylebone is an epic journey for him smile
biggrin

42k miles in my 430 and counting. Almost 70k in my previous Db9 volante, and similar numbers on the v8 vantage, 911 etc. 430 still looks and feels new(ish) but with much better mechanics than all the garage queens that sit and rot. I seek out high milers rather than avoid them because they're far less prone to glitches and I get a better car for much less dosh.

She's more fun on the road than in the garage, means i have a little more than normal on the cleaning front but keen to keep her running. Might avoid snow though.

So there I was, Sunday morning working at my desk preparing for next week. Outside the weather was crisp and the sky was blue.

One of my young daughters said I should take the Ferrari out since it was a nice morning. I replied I haven’t time as I have work to do.

The conversation progressed along the lines if you want to have nice things you have to work for them… The response was ‘you are always working.’

Did make me think…
You've got to use them!!! What's the point otherwise.

I used my 430 spider, 599, Superleggera all as daily drivers. Best to use them & enjoy them! Sadly it's winter time so not using any of the toys at the moment with all the salt on the roads frown Bring on Spring ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lambo_xx,

That is either a piece of comedic genius in reply to a thread that's titled "Oh, the irony" or you need to study this:

"I use my cars as daily drivers"............except for in the wintertime. banghead

Ah yes what a hilarious response!

Perhaps I should clarify what I meant. When referring to "toys" I meant specifically out of the cars I have, I don’t tend to use the older “more delicate” cars during the winter. I used all of the cars I mentioned previously, all year round, including the winter.
Last week there was no snow, ice or salt on the roads, so I had my F50 out for a blast.

I shall do my best to simplify and make my points more understandable for you next time!

Furry muff. My Lotus XI replica now stays firmly in the garage for winter. Polishing off the salt corrosion from the ally panelling of the lower half of the chassis is a right arseache!

Did you ever have a Clio V6? I am sure I saw this a few years ago on a Clio V6. Great plate!

I worked in the M&A (Business Sale) sector (still do) and this is one of the main reasons why many business owners sell their businesses. I don't know if its your business but, as The Specials said "Have fun, its later than you think"!

+1
That's partly why I got into 928's. At least 250K miles until a top end rebuild might be needed smile they just keep going....

Won't the short drives hurt high performance cars? Someone told me Porsche 964s absolutely hated short drives (their engines didn't like that for some technical reason).

Off topic: I want to sell my (tech) company. Almost 40 blue chip clients with huge business change budgets and rising. Pioneering cloud computing. Business doing well but want to kick back. Can anybody help :-)

I haven't driven either of my super cars really for the last 16 months, purely due to daily drivers being too nice.

So I have bitten the bullet and got Rid of my six and seven series bmw's and bought a cheap Subaru.

The theory being it will make me use my two this year !!
