Does look the business ! Would I spend that much money on a Ford ?????? It would have to be significantly better than more established supercar brands and even then you are always going to get the idiots that say nice Ford mate.
Personally, I couldn't care less what badge it has on. Not that there is anything wrong with Ford - the GT40 is one of the most iconic supercars of all time.

As with everything in life, you just have to ignore the idiots wink

Going against the grain on this thread and speaking as an ex Ford GT owner (just sold) I have to say that that rear end is not at all nice.

Twin turbo v6 engine, not NA?
Umm, as an ex Ford Gt owner you'll remember that yours wasn't na either!

wink

I admit a twin turbo v6 sounds a little undwerwheamling but I'm sure it'll have some character. I think it's got a bit of La Ferrari-itis. Looks stunning from some angles and weird from others. I'm sure in the flesh it's incredible.

Clarkson in The Times today said circa £180k...I'm assuming he has a reliable source.

Good news for us if he is right!

Not sure I could get on with LHD though, anyone experience of LHD in the UK?

He's probably basing it on how others have interpreted the US press release :

Q: How much will the Ford GT cost? What do you see as its main market competitors?
A: We will have more pricing details closer to launch, but the Ford GT will compete with vehicles such as the Lamborghini Aventador, McLaren 650S and Ferrari 458 Speciale.

Which probably means nearer £ 250 000 for any UK allocation

It can be a bit of a pain - but you get used to it...and as soon as you cross the channel you are glad you have it!

It does help if you have a friend in the passenger seat who can tell you when you can overtake when you go out for a hoon.

I guess it will just result in more Europe trips for me. biggrin

Same here, no issues with my 2006 GT, wouldn't be put off having any other LHD either.

LHD easy peasy.

As well as the FGT and others I have Dodge Ram and it's probably easier that if it were RHD for gauging kerbs etc

Anyone heard anything else regarding their 'order'?

All seems to have gone a bit quiet for me...unfortunately, I can see a 991 GT3RS/GT4 scenario on our hands with such limited production numbers. frown

My UK based dealer still has no info - and can't help to get me on the stand in NYC - although they put me in touch with a Manhattan based Ford dealer to help.....

He sends regular emails - saying that he still doesn't have any more information.....

He thinks it's going to be very limited - with a just few hundred built - but can't confirm any details.

I have expressed interest but haven't heard anything, at Geneva they said it would be a very limited production run and there was going to be a lot of disappointed people

LHD in my opinion no issue in the UK. only time it matters is if you get stuck behind another car and do not have a passenger. as long as you can see ahead when coming up to another car it is ok. ah and at parking garages you have to get out, but I at least dont come up to ticket gates every day.

I had a LHD car for a bit, and it annoyed the crap out of me, and made A/B road overtaking pretty dangerous
Others seem to manage ok though, and if you're doing track days it's irrelevant, and perfect for european Jaunts

Production number has been confirmed as "low volume limited" in region of 900 cars in total, apparently with as few as 50 cars to be officially sold in the European market!
It is going to cost well over £200k, and even though I will try to buy one, I don't hold much hope of success given how few are going to be made.
It took a while for the market to cop the last GT was a truly great car, and it was built coming into a recession, and prices did soften for a while, but I would guess Ford will sell every one of these before they are made.

Where did you hear/read confirmation that only 900 cars would be made in total?
