Too old for an orange Lambo Spyder...?
Discussion
As you will be getting your free bus pass in 20 years surely you don't need one ?
Of course you are not too old. I bet if you did a poll that would be pretty damn close to the average age for a supercar owner.
You might of wanted a Lambo in your 20's but in reality most people can't afford a supercar until they are older in life

OK not a super car but I'm on the list for the new Mustang when it finally arrives, maybe next year, and I have ordered mine in Orange.
This after a lifetime of greys, silvers and blues. I'm 52 and did worry about the show off colour choice then I thought sod it!
Enjoy the Lambo you lucky sod

It got me thinking, up to what age would you feel comfortable driving one? Weirdly I can imagine an octogenarian driving a classic Ferrari or an SLS... but an orange Lambo..?
There is a wonderful old bit of video of a white Countach driving very fast down a long dirt track through an Italian vineyard. There is a great plume of dust behind the car. As it gets to get house at the top of the track it spins around and stops.
The door goes up and out gets a 70 year old. Ferruccio Lamborghini.
You are never too old...........

1. I am a tarmac rally driver and enthusiastic whatever I'm driving, the reason I didn't like the Lambos I've previously driven is the Gallardo didn't feel challenging enough in my opinion with its 4WD and the Murcie just felt too old school and enormous for me. Good for posing, not driving fast.:
You need the ultra rare 2wd LP550 I'm older than you and have an orange Lambo and like you when I saw an orange Diablo many years ago I thought "one day I will have a car that colour". I have no regrets whatsoever though I sort of understand what you mean as when I go out in my Lotus 340R i do feel a bit of an old fa?t however that's totally different no roof no doors and a track day special I look like I'm trying to be a teenager again. Just do it you won't regret it but you will regret it if you don't live the dream. You're only here once!

I'll be 52 next month and am seriously considering a Verde Mantis Huracan.
Life is too short.
Do it Gary, the Huracan is beautiful in that colour.Life is too short.
OP, I'm 51 and have just bought the brightest orange soft top car in the universe! Go for it and don't give a seconds thought what others think.

imo only attractive slim women should drive drop tops, it's impossible for a man to look anything but a bit of a shirt front in a drop top lambo no matter what colour, however, who cares? If it's a dream I say go for it, just keep away from your local Mc'd's cruise meets
I have to agree with this..If you are worried about looking 'too old' then it's not for you. You obviously care about what people think of you and that's fine. Stick with the Astons, Mercs & V12 Ferraris.
Personally, I think the likes of Lambos, Mclaren and some Ferrari's don't suit anyone who looks over 50, especially drop tops. (unless your're 2 up with an 18yr old Russian porn star and have a tan like you just fell out a bag of Doritos).
Grey hair in a bright orange, drop top supercar will usually draw a few smirks and comments...good or bald.

Can't dig up any figures but my gut feeling would be that those three's biggest market would be over 50's.
And I would whole heartedly agree with you, that's not the point I was making though. (I'm very interested in doing this myself, just have to convince the other half!)

I don't think you ever too old for Bright Coloured Lambo.... in truth no one is looking at you ...there just looking at the car
He's right, I looked that thaty pic for several seconds before I realised it wasn't parked.I must admit, "Not wanting an orange Lambo" seems to be one of the strangest midlife crises I've ever hear of. Even my dad swapped years of beige Cortinas for a brand new Signal Yellow Capri (with black vinyl roof) when he hit 50, and painted the garage door the same colour.
Then again for mine I settled down, cut my hair, stopped racing motorbikes, got a house, real job, and a wife. Now I'm trying to have a second one.

Haircut? Did you know a Gransport can do 65 miles (including 20 miles around town and a visit to a supermarket that has a petrol station) *after* the low fuel light comes on?
