Those ladies are at the wrong place to see young fit men getting in and out of supercars; rather than Oulton they should be visiting certain Premier football training grounds in the locality.

Mind you I guess they are all getting out of Tech Art SUV's with pink wheels and gold seats.

I run marathons, so I guess that counts?

As to whether I'm good looking, debatable tbh

In the gym every day of the week as most of my time is spent sat on my ar53 in the car or meetings at work.
Also agree that it would be rude to be a few lbs over weight when the manufacturer spends £ 000,s trying to keep weight down.

I thought that's why they did it.

British are the world champions when it comes to jealousy, envy, back stabbing, venomous comments and wishing to see people fail. Especially so when directed at a person with more perceived wealth.
I was at Oulton too, having been asked to attend with my F40 to join in a slow track parade at lunch, the aim of which was to maintain crowd interest and entertainment by showing them some rare and fancy cars during the break in race action.
The area where we were all parked was crowded all morning with spectators looking at our cars. Some of the comments I overheard which were targeted at our cars and their owners (bearing in mind that the people making the comments would not have known who the owner was) were offensive, rude, unfounded and in some cases aggressive.
I and the other owners (perhaps 150 of us) had put that day aside to show our cars to and share our cars with all the thousands of spectators who may or may not ever be able to own such cars and whom we presumed would be petrol heads (or they wouldn t have paid handsomely to watch a GT race).
It wasn t us on display, it was the cars. So it wasn t a day for massaging our egos.
I genuinely enjoy talking about and showing my cars to polite and keen and interested enthusiasts but such people are in the minority; vastly out numbered by the people who already hate me even though they have never met me.
I have experienced this at other public events where I have been asked to display a car.
Last year I had several alternative words for 'penis' written on my F40 whilst it was on display for the public.
From now on I will not be attending any shows or events to display a car. I'll stick to going to places and meets with other owners.
Shame, but there you go.

Maybe its England, but for the last few years, myself and a few buddies from Ireland have done various road trips in Wales and Scotland and we have never had anything but good attention and positive vibes.

We found this a big change from Ireland where especially since the recession, there is definitely a begrudgery culture over here.

The last 3 years I have been driving a Challenge Stradale, Murcielago and last year a Carrera GT. All have received really positive comments, and people just wanting to ask about and have a look around the cars.

If people with kids come up to me I often offer if they want to sit in and have a picture taken and it makes their day. In fact, I can't think of a single negative situation we have found ourselves in in the UK and I have the impression that its a very petrolhead type of place in general.

Sad but true frown
I couldn't believe the amount of people actually leaning on the cars to have their photo taken or just casually leaning on them! Would've thought they would have had more respect for other people's property and more 'in tune' with the owners, being they were at a motorsport event. Like you, I think I'll stick to the drives and only attend display events if we're kept cordoned off.
It was the complete opposite at a pub several of us stopped off at on the way back. A few people pulled into the car park after us and actually asked if they could take photographs of the cars - very polite and respectful of other's property smile

At the weekend, I was at a charity event - four of us were there displaying our cars to promote the supercar event in June (which is for the same charity). Three Ferraris and an Atom.

The lack of respect for property from some people was astounding. The Atom owner had it worse - people were lifting their kids up into the car, and standing them on the seats with muddy shoes so they could take photos. Quite unbelievable (we were handing out leaflets to promote the supercar event, so were close to the cars but not standing right next to them). Also had kids grabbing the steering wheel and trying to move it back and forth, sitting on the mudguard, trying to pull the mirrors etc. etc. - all while the parents took absolutely no notice or tried to get a pic with their camera.

I locked my 360 in the end because I got sick of kids pulling the door handles up and causing the window to drop all the time. Wasn't happy at the number of photos taken where kids were leaning on the car with zips / buttons etc. but fortunately no scratches seemed to be caused - but this seemed luck more than anything.

Some parents were very good - DO NOT TOUCH THE CARS!!!!! - but they were in the minority.

It is a real shame - I fully support the supercar event, and will certainly be attending - but the complete ignorance of some people does make you hesitate to do something like this again.

I dont see the point in taking your pride and joy to public events, just to be abused and have people disrespecting your property, quite a boring day anyway. Just go an meet up with fellow pistonheads and go for a drive to something. If people want to see cars they can see them at the dealer ship or on autotrader.

My SV generated a lot of attention form both young and old, male and females who were well behaved
One mother was taking photos of her sons (7/8 years of age)who stood next to my car and clearly mesmerised.I was so impressed how well they were behaved i let them sit in my car.The mother and both her sons were pleasantly surprised and thanked me
Cant say i had any member of the public being disrespectful or misbehaving near my car :-)
Thankfully i have a full head of hair not too old and keep myself in shape (hope i did get called as i set off home lol )

arrrr..... Happy days.

£8250 for a 1985C in spring of 1986 with 760 miles on it.
I think they listed at about £10500 and then you could get a discount to £9500.

It was the most beautiful thing me or my mates had ever seen smile

Still looking good today in your garage. Very nice.

I once had a girl say too me "it's a nice change to look into a nice car and see a young guy driving it" as I was getting out my Noble.

At various shows I go for a wander round and pass by my car occasionally to check on it. As no-one knows the owner I have a quiet smile at some of the comments you overhear.

Thanks for making my day in the yellow f40, great cars there and sad that some of you wouldn't do it again which I can understand. Just hope I get an invite when you go elsewhere.

I thought I sore a really young lad in a 458 spacial too, so your not all old but it's common sense to think it's going to take a few years to make serious money to afford these cars.
