How practical does it need to be? Intended use? E.g weekends away with the Mrs/mistress, track days, or just general posing?
Able to do a two week tour of Spain two up. No track days
Gallardo for me, we did a 12 day two up tour of Europe in mine a couple of years ago, had to be very picky with luggage (in soft bags) but it was perfect, much more comfortable than expected, a friend of mine came along in his 430 which was also very capable, and he did have more luggage space, so down to personal preference of course, anyway we're off back to Spain in June to see if we can decide which is best then thumbup

Unless you want an auto (in which case the answer's a 575) find a nice 550 Maranello. They not only feel special every time you drive them, but also munch the miles, look beautiful from most angles and will not depreciate. Very likely to continue appreciating. I'd also not get hung up on whether you need the HGTE package (or whatever it's named!)

^^ would echo this, plus being front-engined you've got more luggage space for Continental jaunts - the back shelf plus the boot

Viper SRT10 coupe, and a Viper SRT10 convertible with the change. £80k should buy both, finding them in the UK is the problem

Second the Maser GT option, although would go for the 4 seat Stradale version, stunning piece of kit that can munch the miles but also be hardcore enough to provide some fun when needed. I reckon it will become a classic in due course but that would not be my rationale for purchasing. I also like the idea of a good 550, classic Ferrari looks and that V12 up front, plus the option of a manual gearbox, although I suspect maintenance costs could be on the high side as they are now getting on and parts wear out. Finally there is the DBS, lovely car but have heard of some general horror stories about Aston reliability and maintenance costs, which may or may not apply to the DBS, but still tempting. Good luck, nice problem to have!

Maserati a good choice though have only seen the earlier 2-seater MC Stradale at that price. Beyond that, maybe a Bentley Continental GT? Running costs potentially steep but on the flip side, plenty of choice well south of £80k...

personally id have gone for a well specced GT4 cayman, mega performance, probably would have been worth closer to 95k by the time you've finished with it as well.

No. "Has to be special" ie classy, which rules out anything American.

In that case I think the prancing pony is top of the list, Ferrari 550 fits your budget and leaves you sat in a handsome v12 GT car, assuming prices remain strong you even could make a profit.

3 years ago I turned my nose up on a 100k mile GT. I just don't see why they should command this money. I think I'll call Hexagon tomorrow and offer them my 944 though...
