Does anyone know this car at Bowker Maserati?

It is about 200miles from me so I don't want a wasted journey. I received a video and noticed that the bottom of the drivers door protrudes from the side skirt and that the crease on the middle of the passenger door sands proud of the rear wing - see photos. Is this normal?

Apparently they've had it 3 months and it has had a total respray as they couldn't get the colour to match when the bumper was resprayed due to stone chips. I've not heard of this before!

Has anyone seen it or know of any history? Even though it is a main dealer it doesn't come with Maserati warranty.

Thanks in advance,
David

If it's a dealer, you're covered by the SoGa, so that base is covered. Re bodywork; if it doesn't look right and the explanation of the respray doesn't sound right, then it probably isn't right (for you at least), particularly with so many other cars available that won't have this issue. Good luck!

Run forest run £36k is way too expensive for a stories 4.2 in the least popular colour come resale they will kick you hard.

There are plenty of 4.2's in more desirable cars with good provenance for less money

Try Richard Grace he usually has honest examples with warranty and is well respected in the community

Looking at the website he doesn't look like a specialist - he only has four cars.

He's well respected and quite well connected for Maserati sourcing.

Nuvola is also well thought of.

I contacted Nuvola about one of his cars. He seemed too busy and said he'd email me some details. That was 4days ago. Not received a thing. I won't be chasing him - if he can't work for my money I certainly won't chase him to give it to him.

Then you'd probably miss out on a good car...
Whether it's your posting style or not, but you're coming over rather abrupt. You've been given two bits of advice regarding other places to buy and have dissed them both, even though they both have great reputations in Maserati circles. I have dealt with Nuvola and never heard a bad word, same applies to Dicky Grace. You've also been given great advice about the car in question especially with regard to the colour and price.

Another vote for Dicky Grace, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a car from him or ask him to source me a car. I tried to buy a car from him a few weeks ago, he posted about it coming into stock on Facebook, it never went on his website as it was sold even before I called him as soon as I saw it!

I suggest you pop over to http://www.sportsmaserati.com/forum.php where a) someone might know this car or any other you may be interested in and b) get a feel for Dicky's reputation in the Maserati community.

Thanks all. I am merely expressing my opinion on the two suggested. I have spoken with a couple of main dealers; one of whom has been exceptionally helpful and even though they don't have a car they have pointed me to someone whom may be able to help.

I've also spoken with ADG today and they were really helpful and provided a lot of advice!

I'm not moaning about the other two but my personal experience of Nuvola has not given me a good impression of the chap. He has my number and email yet not contacted me even though he has a car for sale that I was interested in. I'm sure I am not the only person fed up with dealers that make little or no effort to sell a car - in fact I know I am not as there are plenty of posts on PH by people who have been treated the same by a variety of dealers - including main dealers!

He probably has three other people interested in the same car as you..as above his cars don't hang about so I'd give him a call again a quick google would give you nothing but positives for Nuvola and a deffo thumbs up from me! It's just a very busy time of the year and he is a one man band.

I couldn't agree more about Richard. Totally worth a call for anyone looking to acquire a Maserati even if just to pick his brains. He's often got experience and knowledge of various cars that are up for sale that can save you wasting your time.

RS - were you enquiring after the MCV he had?

Autofficina have a grigio 4.2 in at the moment with 29k miles on for a crazy £29k! Interior is light too so not the best colour combo but this is the start of the affordable GT's.

On the face of it that car would appear good value.

Very good value! Surprised it's not been snapped up.
