Some highly illogical arguments being flung around here:

-Shmees content is unlikely to encourage bad driving behavior. Think about it: most of his YouTube audience are teenage boys who don't even own a car, let alone a supercar. How much mayhem could they realistically cause? I doubt that Arab supercar owners even watch his channel.

-Arab supercar owners are already ill behaved. Have you ever seen a car rally in Saudi Arabia? These guys love hooning their rides all the time. Shmee or any other car spotter didn't cause that.

-Asking Shmee to remove some of his bad content won't work; there are other carspotters who will upload the content anyways. It's all just entertainment, no dffferent from violent action movies. If seeing bad behavior from these mediums causes you to replicate it, you are a straight up idiot.

I don't care if you are from the Middle East or England, just use your brain and drive responsibly.
I should just agree with you for the sake of simplicity, but surprisingly 68% of my channel viewers fit between 18 and 34 years old, almost all male typically. However bang on your point, I have a larger under 18 following from the UK than anywhere else, albeit still only 8.0% with the international average being 6.0%

Equally I personally know many of the owners of the arab-plated cars that drive in London and am frequently invited to Dubai, Abu Dhabi etc to film with private owners. Last year I took part in a rally in the UAE and Oman and it taught me how slowly the guys out there drive - I was completely taken aback, it was nothing like doing the various tours that PHers organise and completely mellow in comparison.

Its your page, you're responsible for it. You know the content is there don't you?

Again, stop pissing on our leg and telling us its raining. If you want to post content of people acting like knobs because you get paid to do it, thats absolutely fine. Just stop lying to us in the process please?

I've already deleted it, had this conversation with the person who posted it, and moved on. Now, why don't you?

I'm not a huge fan of Tim's video's, but I'm not really into watching video's. I do think there are people here with their own agenda's though. Why is something for the individual to think about, but to go back to the main issue on this thread-it is a nonsense to blame him for the actions of idiots. People who own these cars are perfectly capable of knowing what is or isn't acceptable. "Encouraging" a type of behaviour is one thing, but acting that behaviour out is another.
People like Shmee have shared information and pictures we have all enjoyed one way or another, so really is there any point in just having a dig? Make your point, make it quick and move on.

To put a more logical point forward and hopefully stop all the focused finger pointing, even if Tim took down all his videos and social media and stopped posting or conducting any Shmee150 business it won't stop the hundreds of other supercar chasers around Knightsbridge. It's crazy to think that these british/Arab 'hooligans' come out and perform burnouts just for him but we seem to have a high proportion of pages dedicated to chastising one person.

Very few people have discussed the actual topic and the pros and cons of the proposed law and if there is any way to move forward or what it truly means for people driving powerful/super/sports cars around Knightsbridge.

If certain people feel so strongly about what Tim is doing or causing why not start a separate or more relevant thread. It is very annoying clicking into a thread to read about a completely different topic!

I have a win win solution (I think). If the police were willing to use the mountains of YouTube video evidence to prosecute the perpetrators it would fix both problems at once.

  • Fewer people driving like knobs for fear of a court summons
  • Fewer camera wielding kids swarming the streets trying to get incriminating footage
Plod seem willing and able to prosecute drivers who score an own goal by videoing their own speeding offences so why not this behaviour?

Probably one of the most constructive posts in 9 pages! Or confiscate cars doing burnouts as it shows they haven't got full control of the vehicle. If an F1 driver can be prosecuted(LH in Australia) for not being in full control of his vehicle I think some of us lesser talented drivers should suffer the same fate.

The most sensible post in this whole thread.

There's nothing to stop a local resident compiling a bunch of videos from Youtube that clearly show number plates and dangerous driving and sending them into the Police with a formal complaint
The Police would then be bound to act upon the submitted evidence

Video from last night;

https://www.facebook.com/Shmee150/videos/902234033...

If posting this and against this type of driving why not put it in the description. This is why you don't drive like an idiot in residential areas and make people think.

  • EDIT ** I think the posting of the video isnt the problem, everyone will post it up but there isnt condemnation of the behaviour.

Posted from Ipad and posts up 3 edits as well. However my point being is I don't think the behaviour alone can be blamed on anyone but if so against it like the car photographers claim why not condemn the behaviour in descriptions, yougner followers look up to these big video / photo posters.

Good point. Maybe the BBC should do the same too when they post something bad:

"remember kids, this is wrong". Really, if some kid is stupid enough to believe that is ok then there is no hope for them in the slightest so some comment on FB won't make a jot of difference.

I see your point but I didn't mean condemn in a manner of 'kids this is wrong'. Condemn in a way of look at this idiot, remove the coolness from doing it. That's why celebrities promote products to make them sell, 'this is the cool thing to be doing / wearing' and it does work or they'd of stopped spending the money on doing it.

Its like clothes fashion in a way, in the early 90's it was cool to wear a shell suit (it was cool right?!) then late 90's baggy jeans. You wouldn't wear a shell suit now because you'd look like an idiot. If the driving behaviour is condemned and made to look foolish / uncool then it would occur a lot less. Skoda changing their image is another example through marketing.

I think there is a time and place for this behaviour just not on a London built up road with loads of kids on the pavement with a camera glue'd to their face, ready to be hit if something goes wrong. Once you've seen what can happen to someone due to this behaviour and how their life changes it opens your eyes up the most.

I don't think that particular video really needs additional commentary! Nobody would think its cool to crash your car into a wall. The whole issue is about idiots doing burnouts on a public road with lots of other vehicles around as well as pedestrians. Everyone thinks they are a driving God and can control their vehicle...until they don't. The posting of videos idea should work as a similar thing is applied in other countries where you get rewards for submitting videos of bad driving, littering(throwing cigarette butts out of car windows etc) and that has almost put a stop to such behaviour. It's sad that things have reached this point

Wow I've read a few posts on this thread by you KFC and you're unbearable. A prolific dhead. Fair play to Schmee for even acknowledging your school boy posts and having the courtesy to respond.
