That won't result in a behaviour change, when a punch in the mouth in the first place might have done the trick.
So when you or said culprit end up eating through a straw for 3 months after I catch you keying my car I take it (going by your justice) that too will result in a 'behavioural change'swerni said:
How many people on benefits do you think drive Lambo's?
It was just a general comment about someone preferring the cops to uphold the law, it wasn't specifically referring to number plates.Slickhillsy said:

I'm certainly not going to key your car as its not worth the risk / I don't care enough to do it. I only said I'd laugh if someone else did it. I'd find it equally funny if you caught them and knocked their teeth out too.well no-one is suggesting they're special people? I know a few supercar owners and they aren't any more special than me (non-supercar owner)
and no-one is suggesting plebs in pleb cars can't also have a go....but I think the point is there are more supercars that get away with and even look better withou a plate at the front, whereas as white good cars have a space that requires filling....indeed Alfas for example trade on the aesthetic of a plate to the side....works too IMO.
The OP was simply wondering how if/how many supercar owners fit front plates....
and then it was suggestd that keying those cars was entirel humourous and jusifiable and the thread went south...

I couldn't deal with the stress of driving without one. I just know that there would be a copper round every bend ahead, just waiting to take me out. I genuinely lost my plate in France on my last Euro trip. I had a full size plate on the front of my 355 and I always struggled to find adhesives to do the job as it was always wobbly due to the curvature of the front bumper. Cue warp factor 3 on the French motorway and I kissed it goodbye once an for all. Got stopped at next Peage. Got let off. Got stopped at swiss border. Didn't get let off.....got turned away. This at the end of a very long day of driving (I was 20 miles from destination). Tried a police station in a French town, no joy. Ended up blagging my way into Switzerland 2 hours later. Using my laptop for printing I made one out of A4 paper, scotch tape, scissors, the laminated TV channel guide in the hotel room and some gaffer tape. Stress over :-)
Now I have a smaller one with motorbike font.

No bad thing! Having lived in CH one thing I noticed is the amount of (super and not so super) cars without front plates. I had an RS6 over there on UK plates for a over a year and the stares from local when they realised I was an 'Ausländer' was most strange. One day I thought, 'I'll just drop the front plate and see if that averts attention' and it did - stares stopped...
I would suggest the Swiss cop at the boarder was being a typical Swiss cop and being a jobs worth / pain in the a$$ (don't get me started about Swiss police) as I even got pulled for speeding over there minus the plate and nothing was mentioned.

Smaller size plates are still illegal, and ironically I think can get 3 points, whereas no plate is purely a fine. Might be wrong but what I always remembered from when running small plates on bikes etc.
100% correct...Wilder said:
Though not strictly legal, I just fitted a vinyl stick on plate to the front as there is no way I am drilling a bracket to fit a plate on my GTR. Had it on 7 years and never had an issue with it.
Yeah butA) if you hurt someone they could read your vinyl plate and find you so that's ok...and
B) if your car got keyed we can still laugh cos it's illegal...
That right?

They could read it providing they can do that upside down , and at speed, and if it got keyed it would be amazing as its always in the garage and only goes out for afternoon blasts. ( maybe they could key it running alongside - (that might work)A) if you hurt someone they could read your vinyl plate and find you so that's ok...and

Only car to my knowledge allowed a stick on plate is the E type Jag.

Anyone got any recommendations for places that'll do trimmed down 3/4 size/motorcycle font front plates?
http://www.platesforcars.co.uk/?gcli...FQoa4QodxRsiuAdesign the plate with the font / size required. I have used them several times, and standard delivery is very quick (2 days in my experience)
my front plate is 13" x 4.4" with motorcycle font. No doubt highly illegal, but less chance of getting stopped than for having no plate.
