Gallardo vs F430
Discussion
had my lp520 gallardo my08 for 2.5 years, out of warranty.... no extra costs.... wasnt aware of any 'known' issues...........
the gallardo does not need a regular cambelt change, does the f430?
servicing is cheap through say brackdraft, main dealers charge just under 1k for the annual oil, 1.5 for the intrim, and 2.5 for the major....

Dealer servicing is similar, as are specialist prices and many do both marques of course.
The Lamborghini has few regular problems , certainly I've found mine very robust.
The 430 has strong mechanical parts but suspension components are susceptible. I found some corrosion issues with mine, aluminium doesn't rust but it can still corrode and needs repair.
Part prices for either are at times eye watering but it comes with the territory. Tyres are pricey of course
£5000 a year for everything seems about right including the occasional big bill

5k a year was what I was thinking. How long do clutches last? is there any way of checking the clutch wear when buying? independant inspection??
You can interrogate the car to get its clutch wear in both cars. Early e gears lasted no time at all but much better after first couple of years and LP has no issues.Course you should get a manual if you can anyway
As blue says, e gear cars give a clutch wear reading by doing a snatch test via the obd port... Think on manual cars you can visibly see plate thickness....
The clutch was constantly upgraded so few cars will have the weak clutches now, as even 03 cars would be upgraded at replacement.... 06 on cars got a sintered clutch, LP cars very different again... Talking to a service manager he said LP cars rarely need a replacement...
Wear highest if you sit in traffic in gear or reverse uphill to park....all driving dependent.... Sure andrew on his gen I Superleggera is over 40k miles and under 50% wear on the clutch..

The clutch on the F430 is long lasting, (as long as you don't use launch) expect 40,000 out of one. They have chains not belts, most specialists charge between £500-£600 for an annual service, but you should budget for the odd ball joint replacement each year, they average around £250 fitted each, there are two on each corner. They have few problems aside from the aforementioned ball joints, exhaust manifolds cracking (get an inspection done) and the E-Diff sensors..
