Maserati GT .. should I?
Discussion
Mid blue is Sophisticato I think. Cardiff Maser have one in. In some lights it looks great, others a bit too light.
I quite like the Trionfale red one (Astro wheels though - rubbish in the metal). My Mrs doesn't. Haven't yet seen one in the metal.
Pricing is all over the place on these. The Cardiff car is 76k so makes the QCC one look good value. Then there's a private black one (admittedly a lot higher miles) for 59k. I was close to a deal on a lower miles main dealer black car whose sticker price was 63k. So both of these make the QCC car look expensive and the Cardiff car hopeful.
Loads of autos coming in at low 60k's now with low miles (incl. a number of main dealer cars).
I don't mind paying for a car, but frankly I'm not up for taking a kicking when the car will sit in the garage for most of the next 4mths. Late 50s to mid 60s feels about right for anything up to a 2014 car. Miles I care less about - IME high end cars run better when they have miles under their belt. And it's only with miles that you shake out niggles. But sub-10k miles seems to prompt a big jump in sticker price.
Whilst there aren't many of these in the country (and with 3 of us on here alone looking ) I'm resisting temptation and keeping my wallet in my pocket for the moment. I can see more coming onto the market over the next 3-6mths and they aren't appreciating. Hopefully the pricing will get some structure too.
A good number more 'S' versions available, including some very nice grey ones...but I'd really prefer a Sport.

I'm after an M shift and these are even more difficult to find and apparently get a 5k premium. My use of the car will be different to yours as I intend on doing 12K a year all year round. I want a low mileage one around 2013 in order to spread the miles more when I sell in 2 years time. My benchmark is that I know that I can get a new one from stock albeit an mc auto at £80k on a list of 97k So why would you buy a 2014 with 4.5k miles on it at £75k with similar spec? with so few around it makes figuring out the market price very difficult.
This colour I like .. I think.

That's Blu Sophisticato (it's the 76k Cardiff car).
I'm working from the other end on price. I know 2013 cars with less than 15k are possible at late 50s/low 60s. Spending 10k more on one in winter therefore doesn't seem wise either (there are better ways to blow 10k over Christmas) . Happy to sit it out and see what turns up in March unless the right car/deal materialises.
There are something like 42 MC Shift Sport models in the country. I know of at least 7 different cars that have been or are up for sale...
I'll probably end up putting between 4k and 7k miles a year on mine as and when. The RS4 is the choice for winter.
(And if no GT comes up in a sensible time frame, FF prices are dropping ).

Agreed...
Black is stunning , but I don't like the black pack with black wheels and all the chrome black ,and on mine I didn't like too much chrome either , especially the chrome waist trim which made the car look bulky, so I had just that piece painted in piano black .Was really happy with the result .AMDB9 said:
These beasts were made to be black! Best colour by miles IMHO :-)

You can probably get a 2013 with 15k miles for 60k. However add on 5k for a year younger and 5k for a third of the mileage and you are at 70k. Then add on a premium for the MC shift and you are at 75k. Or am I wrong? The one in Cardiff may be get to 73k. Not sure whether it is a bad price or not. You can get a new one to this spec for 87k I'm working from the other end on price. I know 2013 cars with less than 15k are possible at late 50s/low 60s. It does look good in black .. vowed I wouldn't get another black car though!I'll throw my tuppence in here as a relatively new owner, bought the start of the year after many years of M3 ownership.
In short i'm highly impressed with the build quality and in all honesty find it no different to the BMW's I had, and then of course the GT tickles the parts of the soul most cars cannot. Serious combination of looks and a noise (4.7 MC shift in my case) that is breathtaking.
Regards the MC shift box, I'd driven SMG M3's in the past and have covered probably a thousand miles in my friends 355 F1 which is obviously a very early robotised paddle set-up, so I was bracing myself for the head nodding temperamental joys of SMG type boxes, but it's anything but, its really very good and you soon adapt your style to get it almost 'normal'. It really inst a compromise at all and whilst it's not an auto I really think all the internet chatter about the MC shift being a compromise box is unfounded. Ive covered probably 8-9k miles since I got her. Colour is Bianco Eldorado

The prices I noted were for MC Shift cars... The low 60 to 70k comparison were cars within 6mths of each other age wise.
Whether 6k miles is worth £5k is subjective.
Usual rules apply - things are worth what someone will pay. They're great cars and there's little else out there that ticks the same boxes. For once though I'm trying to make head rule heart. I'd see buying new a slightly different proposition. Once you accept taking a used car, not getting spanked on value tends to take more prominence...?
I like the red ones. Was red or black for me. This is ours. 2010, most options ticked. Auto and the MC fixed rate suspension, not Skyhook. Might be for sale. Can I say that? I fancy an FF next.

You've done the same as me with the black waistline.. I was first!!( well I had it done June 2013?)On a serious note why did you not get the handles done? I had the rear boot strip blacked out too and the rear end looks much nicer too!

I was concerned it may start to look a little slab sided,and/or stealthy,( bit like me !) so just went for the waistline ( bit like me!).
