Hi, i've been quoted £1700 inc vat for a cam belt service on my F360. Have others managed to negotiate this down or is it a totally fixed price?

There used to be main dealer deals via servicethecar.com - are you sure you still need main dealer servicing - many local specialists come highly recommended in this section - make sure you are comparing like for like

£1,700? I hope they are going to degree the cams in for that price!

Fairly sure TFC charge £600 ish for belt change, be aware though that unless you had Hills cam belt tensioner and bearings fitted last time these will need replacing which are an additional cost. cant remember exactly but few hundred £

I didn't know Hills made a cam belt tensioner for 360, can't see any on their website.

Lancaster Ferrari Colchester did my 360 cam belts. Annual service, £1250, they are first class as well, Mike

I maybe getting confused regards Hills items as it was a couple of years back, but either way if a cheap price is being quoted it could be that they are only quoting for belt change and not the tensioners / guides which need replacing.

HE do the tensioner bearings not the actual tensioners.

You need to see what the service actually includes to compare prices. The Indy I use does an annual and a major. The major is belts, plugs, air filter, coolant etc.......

So if £1700 is just to change the belts it's spensive. If it is one of the mileage based big services then it's not too bad.

Hi, thanks for the suggestions. The £1700 was for a major service [gearbox fluids, something to do with the air con etc etc] as well as the cambelt change. I use a specialist indy for my 996 turbo so know that they can be great and cost effective but for some reason for the F360 I want to continue the main dealer history.

You'll pay a figure reasonably close to that for the mileage-based major and belts at a reputable/trusted indie.
