Not often I post on this forum but stupid comments like this infuriate me!
The guy has gone and bought his dream car and you piss on the parade.
Many R8s have had cosmetic paint, mines only covered 30k and I've had the bonnet painted to bring it back to pristine.

High mileage isn't something to be afraid of, my daily has done 140k and I'm not about to change it.
Nice car .... Enjoy!

Agreed, Tom's enthusiasm on this thread has been very infectious. He's got what he dreamed of, all power to him.

Many thanks this is a dream I've lost sleep over many many nights. I never thought I'd be in the position to do something like that every car I've had and moved on has been a stepping stone closer, every sacrifice I've made in my personal life has led to this point it's hard not to get upset with comments like that but this is the Internet at the end of the day!!

You are us Tom! The real enthusiast petrolheaded us!

Even if it has had tap on the front then its an irrelevance - quality cars of high value will always have them properly fixed. And this is why we pay through the nose for insurance if it was a bigger issue! Forget that someone did seemingly put the rings half an inch higher than the factory did - its because of bloody water based paint and stonechips not a rollover!

I so hate this frustrating 'low milage' BS but do change the brake fluid every year and the super synthetic oil after 2500 miles. Just use and enjoy - that other reticent approach serves dealers not enthusiast owners and is a bit of a nonsense.

Enjoy and keep us posted!

I keep looking outside my window and grinning, is it real, did I actually do it. Then it makes all the time working away from home and my other half worth it. It really feels a big achievement, I never thought at 26 i would have the opportunity to pull the trigger

I've ran countless performance cars, M3, M5, Maserati 4200 and so on but I've always dreamt of owning my very own supercar

I knew my old man should never have bought me the super car experience but you know what? I'm glad he did its driven me to be successful in my career and this is a Product of pure visualisation leading to realisation of one of the biggest dreams I've had ever since being a small boy.

I'm loving every second

Mate everyone has that feeling with the the car of their dreams so well done and enjoy it in good health. I remember that feeling with my TT when I first got it! It's a great car as a DD or just to stare at on the weekends eyeballing anyone who leaves a finger print on the paint! lol. Show us some pics. Imo this is still ones of the best everyday use supercars and great value for money considering the ownership costs. On that note well done Audi!

Well done, wish you many happy miles in the R8. You will love it. When I first took a test drive in my car, it took me all of 2 minutes to decide I was going to have it. They really are as good as the reviews suggest, probably one of the best all round performance cars I have ever owned.
Just ignore the crass comments, not even worth a reply, You know exactly what you have bought, unlike many, just enjoy..

Well done pal, enjoy the experience, I've had mine for two years and loved the car every minute I've driven it. I had to wait until I was middle aged to get one, so you've done well for someone your age.

Enjoy it, keep working hard and set a target for your next one!

It's a great feeling having a cool car, I've had a few cool ones and my only regret about that is, you can't keep them all.
Pat yourself on the back for affording yourself a stunner at such a young age, enjoy and stay safe!

Sorry to digress but its not often you get so many R8 owners on one forum.
Has anybody found a resolve for Bluetooth music transfer on the early R8's?

I use the aux plug for my ipod but id prefer wireless.

Nothing sounds as good as a CD with its big phat uncompressed WAV files to me. Misuss' MP3 IPod sounds far worse than one even as a 256kbps file on a direct connection. What is the bandwidth/datarate on a Bluetooth stereo connection (hard to find...)? Tried it once (years ago) - maybe they are better now?
