Maserati 3200 Assetto Corsa or Gransport

That surprises me as My Pilot Super Sports on the BMW M135i lasted an incredible 18,000 miles, despite lots of abuse.
My experience has always been that Michelin tyres last longer than nearly all other brands....
When I had a MK2 Focus RS I was getting about 6K per set of front Continentals, but that's pretty commonplace....

Crikey, I used to get through rear tyres on a C63 in 2000, yes, 2000 miles, and fronts in 4000, the OEMs were super soft (can't remember what they were on the car, didn't really take much notice), and they were not cheap. It's why I got rid in the end, in 8000 miles I was putting another set on front and back, over £1000 again, and enough was enoughMy experience has always been that Michelin tyres last longer than nearly all other brands....

Father has C63 Estate with LSD, 70,000 miles, haven't heard him complain, think he gets about 8-10,000 a set....
2000 miles is quite an achievement Love the C63
Just did a search...http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=96&t=1493625

Quite a few of us on here used to have 3200s back in 2003/4/5 - out wasn't an unusual occurrence to have someone (regular or new signup) come on and announce their car had been totalled in damp conditions - usually on a motorway slip road, usually in sport mode...
I loved mine, but it was a total money pit at only 18 months old...

Another reminder for me to be careful with the sport button...!
The thing is though, because mine is an Auto, that button is pretty compulsory for when you are trying to press on.
I like the idea of the manual, but there are those crank end float horror stories, and even the reviews when new said that the manual was not co-operative and suffered from drive line shunt.
(I have two Autocar reviews of the Assetto Corsa when new)
Surprising considering it's a Getrag shared with BMW M cars.
Most of all, as with all of these things, I took advantage of the right car coming up at the right time, there aren't many about and the condition is great.

Still loving this car. The Michelin PS4 tyres and a full re-alignment have transformed the car.
The alignment has to be done by using shims, so not a five minute job. It was quite a lomng way out.
It now handles very nicely, cornering flatly and with a nicely pointy turn in.
I've also got used to the gearbox more now, on back roads I simply put it into 3 instead of D to stop it going into 4th, and sometimes even 2 for maximum punch.
The turbo power and chirruping is great fun
The looks from the front are fantastic too, lower bonnet with vents etc, I much prefer to the later cars.
Add to that a special feeling interior and It's hard to believe how much car I got for the money, it feels really special.
These are so undervalued at the moment - if anyone is umming and erring, I say get one! Just make sure you take the time to find a good one.

The AC has to be a future classic, they're a superb car and I think they're ageing very well. I used my Gransport quite a lot this weekend which is not as raw as an AC but still feels so much more special and involving than most modern performance saloons etc. I can't see me ever getting rid of it as I don't know what I could replace it with for even double the price that I'd prefer

I think it was a combination of the manual box, and the dbw throttle, which would close it's range over time, if full throttle was not used, until it became almost on/off. A throttle pedal reset works wonders.
Agree fully, a throttle reset works wonders. They suffer with "tip in" issues with the throttle position sensor after a while. Gassing Station | Supercar General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
