Hi All, been thinking about selling my 550 for a little while, simply as I don't really use it very much.

Will also be selling my 300sl this summer so tempted to put the two bits of money together and buy something I will use.

I have a 355 as well which I won't be selling so don't need out and out sports car

Only thing I have come up with is a DBS violante but I found it quite cramped.

So what have people gone to after the 550 or similar

Had granturismos but it's feels like a bit of a step back as a fun car.

Any advice welcome

Phil

Phil, I'll put forward the case for the Ferrari 599. I had a 550 for 4 years and loved it, wished I hadn't sold it and subsequently struggled to find something to fill its shoes. I bought a Porsche, considered and test drove quite a few Astons, including the DBS, but the only car I kept returning to again and again was the 599. Then I finally test drove one last week and bought it on the spot. It is sensational in every way; very very fast obviously, and a great sound, but also a beautiful interior and very comfortable when you're not 'on it'. I was completely beguiled by the whole package and in my eyes it's a handsome beast, too. Not missing the 550 so much now! Good luck with the search.

I would get an F12 - I think it looks much better than a 599 and is a little smaller. At 200k Euros, they are starting to look very good value imo

It's still for sale...at least it was last week because I went to look at it. Mileage and condition are very good, but I thought on balance it was perhaps a little expensive for a non-HGTE car.

That's egham for you 😉

F12 lovely but probably a bit out of budget

Thanks

I have also been thinking of moving to a 599 from my 550. Had a close look at 2 for sale at Knowl hill cars last week. They are sensational in the flesh....

What about a FF, eminently usable yet still an occasion.

Trust me Ian, when you drive a 599 you'll want one even more!

I think the temptation is strong now as prices have closed.

I am going to have a look at the one at Knowl hill and the one in Egham.

There is also a nice grey one at Amari.

Don't think I could bring myself to buy a 612, the depreciation on 4 seat Ferraris terrifies me !

That's not a worry at the age they are.

466 and 612 are both on the up and FF have bottomed out and even bounced up a little.

Do you think the 612s still have a way to go before they hit there bottom prices? I think they maybe not to far of.
However going back to your original question, the 599 is an amazing car and at a gret price right now I think.

FF's are still depreciating. A great car I would seriously look at.

Have to apart from the depreciation, I can't get around the looks of the 612, the FF is growing on me though.

The 599 is probably more my cup of tea
