My husband has a Ferrari 430 scud but is currently on a mission to trade in for a new 911 GT3 (or something being released in 2 year’s time, I can't keep up, maybe a 991.II GT3). I'd really appreciate any views on what the better car would be. We've had a 911 GT3 prior to the Scud but I can't understand why he'd want to go back to a Porsche??

I personally didn't like the attention we had in the Porsche. It was white, great car but every idiot just seemed to want a race (yawn). The scud is epic in my lady eyes. Black, noisy, mean.

I need a good argument to keep the Ferrari please boys. Unless the new Porsche is the better car?

Cheers.

I'm confused, are you saying you receive less negative attention in the 430 than the Porsche?

I've found it to be the complete opposite.

nothing wrong with the 911 gt3 but can't compete with the scud in terms of pure drama imo but (depending on when you bought the scud) prices are high and now is a good time to cash in.

This doesn't really make sense: you might get an allocation of a limited Porsche in two years time and you need to know now whether to swop your 430Scud for it

Why not put your name down for the Porsche and then reconsider nearer the time if you get offered one by which point your Scud will be ten years old and the change in technology will be epic

You could also try a 488 now and ask to be listed for the 488 Scud equivalent

We don't receive less negative attention in the 430... It's a different jaw hit the floor attention in the scud!

Also when the Porsche was parked once, someone had spat on it. Disgusting.

I like the idea of him putting his name down for the new one possibly and cashing in on the high price of the scud now. But having said that won't the 430 hold it's value or go higher? I watch those car auction things of Ferrari's past and they go for ££££'s

Thanks for your feedback btw smile

Depends on how you define a better the car... The porsche will have newer and better tech and be a faster car and better all rounder, but won't necessarily be the better car...

Also, the current gt3 Rs has been a massive overs car, almost double your money on delivery...

So in summary the Porsche is better all round for things like performance, build quality and tech. The solid objectives.
The Ferrari is better for some specifics, like drama and character, the fluffy subjectives.

yeah? no?

I've just worked out who you are (shouldn't have taken that long really...), and I've already offered my thoughts to your husband wink
I think perhaps your concerns are unfounded.
Man-maths you see.... he'll employ them and everything will be fine.

Noooooooooo don't offer thoughts to him! Man-maths.. what's that then??
I still think the Ferrari offers much more drama then the Porsche. It's not a supercar in my eyes smile

If you think I'm going to undermine your better half by explaining the basis of how men deal with a successful relationship, you're nuts hehe
Don't worry it's not bad....it's man-science...it'll all be fine. You get the 'drama' of a Ferrari...and you get the 'build quality and tech' of a Porsche... it's beautifully simple magic.
Whereas these lovely cars can have a price that seems exorbitant....you simply can't put a price on a happy husband...

RS Porsches are supercars...going to have to correct you there.

Anyway, just relax...it'll all be fine.... its motorbikes you need top worry about hehe
Hope to perhaps say hello in person one day beer

Yes I know it will all be fine. Men and cars, bikes…
I’m going to go on my own journey and trade in my Mini. Husband says I don’t rev it enough so he drives it to 80mph in third gear.
Will get a Nissan Juke and spray paint it pink just to p**s him off smile !
