I think you are way too late http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=147...
Build & allocations will be even fewer than last GT plus car much more expensive
I think the allocation process has just begun in the States against the thousands of expressions of interest with priority to the owners from last time http://www.gt40s.com/forum/all-gt40/47709-ford-gt-...

I expressed an interest a while ago and have had a couple of e-mails since, but nothing specific. I was told which dealership (closest to me) would become an authorised ‘GT dealership’ etc but that's about it...I was told more info to follow in due course.
We can't be that far away from something a little more specific given the 4 cars competing at Le Mans this year!

Application submitted. The Configurator is now live as well.
The website says that there will be 150 cars in 2017 and 150 in 2018 - so 300 in total...demand likely to outstrip supply! Here's hoping I fit the required profile. It looks like being an amazing machine. I'm really looking forward to seeing them in action at Le Mans this year.

So out of interest what did you put in your video to explain why you deserve to be allowed to buy a car?Hopefully Ferrari and Lambo don't follow this a expect a begging video for each Limited Edition car

it's a bit nuts really, it's not like buyers of the GT here are likely to own a fleet of ford fiestas so they have to pick it on other criteria.Hopefully Ferrari and Lambo don't follow this a expect a begging video for each Limited Edition car
a strong argument would be: I own the previous Ford GT and have driven it 20k miles (with a provided VIN etc) and didn't flip the car for profit.
(that's not an argument I personally will be able to make)

Nothing! I referred them to my social media accounts and other online presence (such as my posts and interactions on this site) to demonstrate my genuine interest in cars...Who knows how that will play out.TheDeadPrussian said:

Never thought of that idea ...I have no beef with the guy, in fact I like some of his videos but I felt the whole process was geared towards someone like Schmee on social media.

You have to act slightly camp, promise to rev the nuts off your car in front of 14 year olds all shouting (and sometimes swearing) at you in Italian, mention 'lunch' all the time and occasionally let out random high pitched giggles at awkward moments then you get fast tracked a Ford GT.
That's a different set of assessment criteria to Ferrari for sure.

Love the looks, just hope the power train is up to the job both in performance and character... A car that looks that good needs a monster motor to go with it and 'EcoBoost' just sounds a bit lame / is it derived from the RS & Mustang unit???
No - it's a V6 for starters (RS and Mustang are 4 cyl) and in the GTs twin turbo configuration it's the same basic power unit that they used to win Sebring 12hr in 2014 and numerous other races. The same engine they will be running at Le Mans this year competing with Ferrari 488 etc....Love the looks, just hope the power train is up to the job both in performance and character... The website says a MINIMUM of 150 cars per year. With so many reported applicants Ford may well decide to make significantly more........?Gassing Station | Supercar General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
