Shmee - Any idea what the car's weight & power will be in comparison to your 675LT?
You're probably party to more rumours about 'P14' than I am, but it goes without saying it'll be an improvement on 650S/675LT and probably only a year after the GT(?)
I've not heard numbers but I'd think 675PS and 1240kg would be pretty reasonable targets. They might surprise us though...You're probably party to more rumours about 'P14' than I am, but it goes without saying it'll be an improvement on 650S/675LT and probably only a year after the GT(?)
P14 sounds rather wonderful, and will be similar money for probably a car that although fantastic and stupidly quick is presumably less of an event to drive.
So I have a NA V8 (SLS), supercharged V8 (Ford GT) and twin turbo V6 (Noble). Which sounds best? hhmmm they'll all just different. And in reality that's the only difference in the world of clever ECU's and engine control. I bet you'd never detect the difference between a V6 / V8 TT driving wise.
As for power, well it's known that the race engines (which have been proven winners for a couple of years now) have run at 800bhp+ for sometime. The road car probably won't be that much, but it could start with a 6 or 7...
So has it got 2 cylinders to few or in Porsche's racing eyes 2 too many? Ah, there's a pub debate

Selecting buyers based on their level of media whoring leaves as bad a taste as their shameful tactics at the last Le Mans 24h.
Well said.... It's pretty strange when original 05/06 GT owners who have kept the car when those with ahem..superior social media profile with nothing else linked to Ford historically have got allocations. This was the email that dropped into my inbox at 8:01am yesterday, fair to say I am one very happy man right now.

The Ford GT will sound very GT-R like. IMHO.
Pricing is going to be very interesting given they are talking about <25 cars for the UK, even as low as 10 or 15. That's going to cost a fortune to deliver and handle the customers esp if they are doing a 1:1 type service like they are suggesting above.

I've heard before now that the GT Concierge that will handle this is one global base for cars worldwide. All Euro cars are going to be run through a sole setup as well. I don't know what that means for servicing when delivered!Pricing is going to be very interesting given they are talking about <25 cars for the UK, even as low as 10 or 15. I suspect it means you will be taking the occasional trip to Germany!
Its a cool project but I could see costs getting a bit out of control unless they perhaps look at building more cars or releasing other versions.
Lifetime support of 20-25 years aint going to come cheap and they have no real network in place.
How many dealers do FMC own in the uk? Cant be many if any? Will be interesting to watch the evolution.

With such small numbers coming to the UK I can't see them creating a whole new 'Performance' network for the maintenance of these cars. Presumably they'll have set up some sort of strategic alliance with a 'Don-Law' type firm to carry out all their work for them. My recollection is Ford Dunton handled type approval for all the Europeans GTs and then there was a single UK servicing point with maybe others in Europe - I imagine there'll be a similar set-up this timeAMG Merc said:
