Fair play to her as she seems to be a proper petrolhead. Publicity may be one of their criteria?

actually l looked her up when I read she bought a Speciale a while back and then even bought one of her albums... doing my part so she can buy the cars - good music too imo
You go girlfriend! hehe

Good god.

'You've been selected for the opportunity to purchase a new ford..." Sorry but rofl

When Ferrari do it, it's fine. When Porsche do it, it feels like a piss take. But ford? Have another rofl

Selecting buyers based on their level of media whoring leaves as bad a taste as their shameful tactics at the last Le Mans 24h.

Dear Amy Macdonald.

If you have a spare minute or two this weekend I'd like to marry you, please.

Thanks,

Martin.

You wouldn't believe the number of people that do. I didn't want to go public with a yes or no at all yet but I've got to stop the thousands of incoming messages and comments.

My post was said in jest. Whilst I don't care particularly much I do hope Tim's got one and I'll definitely be watching any of his GT related videos when the time comes.

Absolutely love your comment, with you on this, but they'll be worth more than they paid for them lucky bunch of owners

Shmee, I have to give you your due, you are learning how to play the game. Your trip to Le Mans to publicize the RS, plus the time you gave to the GT team, followed by your recent purchase of an RS and the subsequent 3 videos to sing its praises. I can’t think of a better way to guarantee your slot clap

One of the lucky ones Shmee! Good timing on the FocusRS wink

Any idea when it'll arrive or is it way too early to know?

Well said.... It's pretty strange when original 05/06 GT owners who have kept the car when those with ahem..superior social media profile with nothing else linked to Ford historically have got allocations.

I honestly believe that allocations were decided long before I bought the Focus RS, it was only 12 days from buying it to GT allocation email too, out of three months since my applications.

In any case, Ford want GTs to be used and I know very few people who put these cars through their paces more than I do; mileage, daily driving, events, road trips and track days. Not only that but of course I'll be sharing everything with a huge audience as a nice perk, but clearly not the only requirement as very few 'social' people got given allocations.

For what it's worth, I don't think many people who don't work for Ford have been at the world premiere in Detroit, the Le Mans introduction last year of the racecar and then spent the race weekend this summer with them too. That's not been an overnight thing, I've been building my brand relationship over a much longer period than you initially realise.

Congrats Tim! Any thoughts on colour choice yet? The grey looks menacing.

tbh at least Ford have given them to people who actually like cars, rather than Ferrari giving out early F12tdf cars to C rate actors

I've got a solid idea based on the online configurator but presumably there will be a lot more by way of options to come in due course. I'm not actually sure what happens next and when we can find out about delivery guesstimates etc, time shall tell.

Ford seem to have missed something in their selection process since surely awarding a car to someone who changes their car (and loyalties) every few months is a very short term view and guarantees a heavily publicised delivery will be seen in the aftermarket very swiftly - maybe that was their intention
