CS, Scud, Speciale - Has the market stalled?
Discussion
Very good point made here, same stock for several months with no reduction in price. Some have gone up which is odd...
I've been looking for a RHD non-Rosso Scuderia car with factory stripes and the carbon steering wheel for a while but am weary of shelling out £190-210k for one. There is a lovely one at Joe Macari but is up at £250k as it has very low mileage. Similarly, there is a LHD Rosso Scuderia one for pretty much half the money at the same dealer so the spread is huge.
I may not bother waiting and go for a used F12 but supply is few and far between and pricing seems to be firming up in recent months also.

6 of the RHD cars currently advertised on here have been reduced in the last 4 weeks, one of them by 20k! And they still haven't budged... The LHD's seem to be moving better. Not sure what that says??
For me, I'm totally sold on the Scud as opposed to a CS or Speciale - it's the perfect blend of the two. Although I'd never discount owning the others in the future if the opportunity arises.
It's interesting there's a few of us looking to buy, but unsure whether to commit or not....

It comes down to wether your looking to buy either of the cs, scud or speciale for driving experience or your only purchasing with the intention of making money on it. If you want a scud because you honk it's a great car and you want to drive one for 12 months then go for the lhd with good spec, it's cheaper and you can drive it here and enjoy a euro hoon. If you want to buy one because you think there is possible growth in value then pick a good spec low millage car and put a bid in, if the owner wants out of the car they might take an offer.
Rumour has it that part of the problem is that many of these cars are not owned by end users but by dealers fuelled by greed and cheap money. Many cars have been passed from dealer to dealer accumulating price increases each time. Now someone is left holding the baby with no takers. True or false theory?
Bloke I work with bought a Speciale last year for £350k as an "investment", high spec car but then there are plenty of high spec Speciale's about. Certainly six and maybe three months ago there weren't really any cars for sale from dealers for less than £350k and I remember TOP 555 selling one they had up for £400k very quickly, market has certainly changed now though with plenty of cars up for less than £350k...Trade bid might be £300k ish for a great spec car now? I was wondering if people were selling to make way for F12 TDF's as likely everyone that got allocated a TDF also has a Speciale and possibly an Aperta!

I doubt a dealer would offer £300k trade for a speciale, with this many for sale they would more than likely not want to buy one outright unless they offer very low money. Have any gone through auction lately? That's a good indication of what a trade bid is.
£300k was a number I pulled out of thin air! You're probably right though they would only offer very low money now if at all. The gap between Trade ( what your bid ) and Retail ( what they ask for them ) is huge.
It use to be circa £15 to £20k to allow for preparation, warranty, marketing etc and of course a few thousand profit but nowadays the spread is much bigger on a lot slower selling commodity.
Funny how a well known and very knowledgeable, cash rich dealer who was heavily into this market and dictated prices seems to be quietly taking a back seat right now. Reckon he knows the market is well overcooked and is now cleverly waiting for prices to drop back

nice stable! looks like a ball ache to get the higher cars down though!
Currently its:
bottom/top
Bay 1 - 1961 Mk2 Jag/1972 Mk1 Escort RS1600 BDA
Bay 2 - 458 Spider/1996 Lotus Esprit V8
Bay 3 - F12/1930 Ford Model A Phaeton
Bay 4 - Speciale/GT3RS 997.2
Bay 1 - 1967 Abarth 595
Bay 2 - 1964 Alfa Giuliette Sprint/MK Indy R R1
Bay 3 - 981 Boxster S/E92 M3
So, for example, I've been using the RS1600, 458 Spider and Abarth over the last few weeks. The Spider and RS1600 are now cleaned and put away and I'm using the Jag and F12. The Abarth is in Bay 1 of the 3 bay garage as that's the "Waiting to be cleaned" bay. Once cleaned (when it stops f*cking raining - Summer?) it'll go away and I'll pick something else to use depending on my mood. Thus I have to get cars off lifts once a month usually when I have a change around. As I like to use all my cars I have to rotate them and in any case, if I use to many I end up with amental few days cleaning umpteen cars. Typically I have three plus the Mercs on the go. Usually one supercar and 2 others.
Plus I dont work so I need to keep busy. ;-)
At least we got back to talking about cars instead of money!
