Should I buy an Audi R8 V10 with 5 previous owners? I've found an Audi R8 V10 with low mileage, but the downfall is in the fact that it has 5 previous owners. The car is 6 years old however, and my plan is on keeping it a long time so it hopefully appreciated one day to the level I paid for it. Is 5 owners too much, do I need a 1/2 owner car for the car to be worth a decent amount in the future 5/10 years?

Many owners doesnt necessarily make a bad car. Lots of people get bored and move on in a year. Sometimes new owners is good as each one lavishes a lot of care and attention in the first few months. Just check service history for completeness and issue.

In ten years time they all will have multiple owners so service history as noted above will be more important - and realistically there won't be much value to maintain anyway

How ironic is this!!! I too am currently looking at a 6 year old R8 that has had 6 owners. I was a bit hesitant about it at first but as others have said, not that unusual with a car of this type.

Why a manual?

While 5/6 owners in as many years does not neccesarily mean big problems being passed on, it might.

As long as the car is inspected and sold with a warranty I would be relaxed about it though.

because the R-Tronic is terrible, and manual R8 V10's are becoming rarer and rarer as people realise a mid engine V10 naturally aspirated manual gearbox is something very special, not to be repeated .... prices will rise ... think Fezza 430 manual

all the 5.2V10 Gallardo's were e-gear

so name another V10 manual mid engine naturally aspirated supercar for sub £70k ??

I looked at a 5 year old 4.2 with 8 owners, it put me off. I think 1 every 12-18 months is OK, more than that sets off alarm bells about a lemon and will to the next buyer

I recently bought a 3k miles 1 owner V10 Plus and love it and the R-Tronic was never fitted to the Plus, it gets either manual or S-Tronic, which is a great gearbox if we are talking double clutch. I'd probably seek a lower owner car, frankly, but i've stuck 8K miles on mine since April and it is getting better with miles.

I wouldn’t get too concerned about it. I've owned a couple cars with several owners, it's quite common on these types of cars, especially when they were new, to be flipped quite quickly. I saw a Hurracan recently that had 3 previous owners in 1 year.
