I've been offered a tour (not by him!) I do Goodwood Revival and other events. Is there anything there to make it worth going? I live in Norfolk 200+ miles from venue. I heard he'd sold part of collection recently?

9 hour round trip of motorway.....I've seen his GTO up close at Goodwood, just wondered if there's anything else amazing there?

I was lucky enough to go this spring - at a guess 30-40 cars - everything he brings to Goodwood plus various 12 cylinder Ferraris Bugattis Lolas Model T Ford etc etc - fascinating couple of hours

But only you can decide if that means enough to you to make the journey worthwhile

I've not had the pleasure of meeting him but I have a mate who has.

My mate said to Mr Mason "you were so smart buying the 250 GTO before prices went nuts".

Mr Mason answered "if I was so smart I would have bought two". Mr Mason is class.

I've been.

I can only say it was brilliant!

Without giving too much away - there are motorbikes, aircraft, workshops and cars in the hanger.

He has specialists on site building and repairing period Bugatti engines.

Highlights include but are not limited to a Ferrari(!) motorbike, McLaren F1, Lolas, 'Birdcage' Maserati and of course the 250 GTO.

Enjoy!

The highlight for me was the 'Goodies Tricycle'. Utterly unique and oh so of its period.

He has one of the world's great car collections...512S, 312T3, 250 GTO, D-Type, Ulsters (plural!), T35, 935, 956, BRM V16, 512 BB LM, F1 GTR. Those are just a couple of highlights off the top of my head!

I think if you're questioning whether to go, you have to look at your priorities in life and consider also why you inhabit this forum at all biggrin

And a Maserati 250F. Possibly the greatest racing car of all time.
