200k seems like a very fair price when a nice 488 can be 180k

£150K is about right for a nice 488 GTB at the moment.

This seems great for a dealer car with 2 yrs warranty - nice spec, one of the last ones, and 7k miles: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202402297...

Compared to same spec / late / low miles F8: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202308110...

Compared to 296 GTB: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202312235...

So £169k (488), vs £214k F8 vs £224k 296

The F8 in this comparison looks over priced vs the 488. There isn't imo much difference F8 over 488 and for 10k extra I'd take the 296

Either the F8 will fall (or isn't selling at that price?), or the 296 is good value. I think personally, F8's are probably too high and relative rarity is probably holding them there as some people wont want to sell their bigger, more interior room F8 to move into a 296?

This is a good spec, well priced 488 if you are prepared to purchase outside of the network -

I agree that F8's are are too highly priced right now. There are quite a few out there for sale and some are sitting around for a good while.

This is my old 488, I sold it less than a year ago I think for £177k and it was put up for sale by Ferrari Leeds at £187,500

Really nice car if someone gets it, I think I sold at 6k miles. Whoever has had it had it less than a year and only did 1000 miles before selling on again.

Brilliant spec

Whilst the F8 may sound worse than a 488, the look is certainly much more modern and stylish

just trying to figure out why the 296 GTB sounds so much better than the F8 as both have OPF, is this due to the Turbos on the 296 being within the V as opposed to external to the block on the F8? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62Wf3GMJzpQ

The F8 is a more playful road going Pista, better steering feel and comes alive at lower speeds. It drives completely differently to the 488.

It just sounds crap ... that's its only issue.

296 very different again IMO .... a lot smaller, more agile and reacitive, busier and sharper so less of a GT and a better sportscar .... bland-ish looks, dash and drivetrain complexity are all dealbreakers for me though personally

The dealbreaker in the 296 for me was the user interface. The haptics felt dim-witted when the car was new, that’ll only get worse. If they retro-fitted a 488/F8 wheel to the thing along with an analogue rev counter, I’d be in one now.

the sharpness thing is interesting, how sharp can a car be? smile

people said the 430 was sharper than the 360 then the 458 was much sharper than the 430 then the f8 was sharper than the 458 and now the 296 is sharper!

I agree with you and felt that in the static car. The only thing is, once you have it set up and you are driving it, you forget this. At least that was my experience. I appreciate everyone has their own level of tolerance for these things. The driving was good enough to not be irritated by the interface for me anyway. In traffic or cruising that might be different of course.
