Here you go Dale - F.Chat won't let people view them unless they are registered so I have re-posted them for you so that these kind people can see just how good a nice 348 can look

Personaly, I would go for a 348 spider and put some 355 wheels on it. Just think that that is one of the best looking Ferrari combinations going, and of course you save £10k - £15k over the 355!

As an aside, coming back up from Yorkshire on Monday, saw a Mondial on the motorway, and realised just how good they look too. Size wise, compared with todays cars, they are so nice and petite... Vastly underrated in my opinion.

Charlie, you're doomed.! We both know you're going to go for a 355.

I actually think having a left hooker isn't a big thing. You have a much greater market to sell on to, which means prices won't be dictated by British economic conditions. And, should you ever take it abroad, you can make the most of being on the correct side of the car for the road. And a Fezza is a Fezza, regardless of where the steering wheel is.

Go on. You only live once!

Well.... I drove a LHD 355 F1 GTS around Goodwood for 3 laps earlier this afternoon and you're right Mike - I am doomed.

I knew it would pan out this way - it really is a very different car to a 348tb and I have to have one (not an F1 though thanks). Looks like I am going to have to up the ante and go for an early LHD 355 for around £35K, if I can find one....

Maybe going for a non Rosso car is going to make that more possible? I gather that non red cars are a couple of grand less (and Verdi's green one another couple of grand less still (not that I'd entertain a green Fezza f'r goodness sake!!)).

Ha! I win!
An excellent choice. Now the hard bit starts. Finding the RIGHT car. Black is a very cool colour for a Fezza IMO.
Anyway, good luck.

Hi. Having posted on PH previously as wedded to buying a 512TR this year, I passed KHPC a while back and forgot how cool the 355 and 348 spiders are. Wife wants spider, I still favour 512TR but am tempted by the open air thing now...

I see I could get a 355 spider LHD for <£40k (or RHD <£50k) now which is tempting. Also 348s are exceptionally priced IMO - If any Ferraris underpiced they look it.

I found this old thread and thought I'd ask if those who were looking at LHD 355s or 348s have now bought and are happy or have any tales to tell/advice to give me?!

Incidentally, has anyone brought in a LHD 355/348 from Europe? I found the 348 Spider below (black, lowish miles) on www.mobil.de asking Euro 42k (£29k!). In that colour and for that mileage that looks a steal if it has the higher powered engine and I can get it for a few thousand Euro off. What are the import costs/taxes etc from within the European Union? Can I just drive it home and reregister?

Thanks in advance.

You could get a RHD yellow 348 spider for the same money, don't think any of the prices you've said compare to what a good broker could get you for cars already in the UK

Hi Ommar

Luckily yes, put some reward (£100) posters up around the development where I live. Some guy called up at midnight & collected the reward. Was over the moon as Lambo London quoted £3200 and upto 10 weeks to source and rectify!

Needless to say an extra set of keys/fobs will be ordered soon!

La la la la la la la la la la la!

Stop it! Stop it all of you! I'll be selling the Cayman S next year (circa £40K?) and I reeeeeally want a 355. But I've got to pay a chunk off the mortgage....

Reading all of this is doing me no good. Can someone please post me Saturday's lottery numbers? I'm not greedy, 5 and the bonus will be fine.

Edited to say - have you seen that 348 Spyder Verdi's have got @ £34.5K? Seriously tempting....

One of the classic car mags did a review of these F's sometime over the last 12 months. My recollection is that the author claimed there was an overwhelming step change between the 348 and the 355...

Also, here's a question - are you relaly going to lying on your death bed saying "I wish I'd gone for the 348 and saved myself a few grand"?

Naaaaaa, I didn't think so either...!

This daft comparison keeps coming up - it's not 'a few grand' is it?? Equivalent 355's are 15-20 thousand more. That's nearly double, especially when you add in the larger emergency fund required. If I was happy to spend double the budget I might have gone for a Countach or a 512. Why not spend a few grand more and get a 360 - the magazines said they were miles better.

And remember, my A1 condition 348 Spider (RHD) went for £29,999.

I would look to pay £25k for a nice RHD TS and only £21-22k for a leftie, which is what I very well may do next year.

I too would love a 512TR, but it just seems more sensible to put the money into another Spanish property rather than a toy

You still loving the car Chris?
