I notice that a couple of these are for sale in the glossies this month at what seem to be reasonable prices. How much should you be prepared to put aside to run one for, say 3-5K miles pa?
It`s time for a little italian flakiness in my life.

My top tip is buy the best you can possibly find at almost whatever it costs. This should enable you to avoid flakiness in the first place and then you can look at minimal running costs. The Lamborghini service interval is 3,000 miles. You will need to top up the oil between these points and may or may not fancy tuning the carbs more frequently. An annual checkup and fluid change may be all you need to budget for
I don't know where you're based but the car storage place I use is run by a brilliant engineer which means my running costs are actually very modest - largely because the car's right and 'Jim The Bentley' is very clever (and well connected for parts supply). I have absolutely no fear of using the car or the unlikely event of it failing because 'Jim'll Fix It'.
Insurance is classic so not silly, my fuel consumption is typically around 16mpg (and I drive it), but I regularly hit nearly 19mpg on a run. It's the town work that drops it to about 13mpg. I write on Auto-Journals about it.
The white one currently for sale used to belong to PH'er 360boy in the 80s, the grey one has been in the LCUK for eons.
Tom fiddled the carbs every half hour . . . but then, he's a perfectionist. His Spada runs awesome . . . an effing turbine. Idle after the run and after the shoot made every hair in my neck stand up.
Buy the best Spada and take someone who knows with you. There's junk around see . . . S3 are the best drivers they say.
Good luck and tell us about it

... but only because the engine didn't run as good as it could. Once perfectly tuned, one should stop fiddlin' around.
Ignition is even more important and difficult to get right, especially with those double distributors.
But it is worth the effort. The engine absolutely runs like a dream.

Could anyone (Bosscerbera?) recommend a decent inspector that knows these cars? and is there anything like a buying guide (unlikely I know)?
Finally who are the best specialists for the older Lambo`?
My search for a decent 2.4S 911 is failing and they are IMHO getting a little too expensive when you look at the complicated italian metal you can get for the money!
