ENZO WRITTEN OFF, AGAIN!

Would be interested to see if Ferrari reckon they can repair it, IIRC Ferrari said it was only in the order of $300,000 to repair Stefan Erricson's car after the accident on the PCH. Can't see how, but i seem to remember reading it somewhere...
I expect Ferrari could comfortably build a whole new Enzo around the VIN plate for $300k hence the price.

Does anyone else find it amusing that 'polygamy' is the one of the news categories in the The Salt Lake Tribune? It's further up the list than 'education'!
Is it just me who thinks that the Enzo is too close to a real race car in dynamics and technical ability, handling, performance etc etc that using it on a public road (with all their cambers, imperfections, dips and unknown wobbles) at high speed risks them flipping/spinning etc??
We have had cars that do 200mph+ for 20 yrs now and many that do 180+ quite easily - I see nothing like the frquency these sorts of crashes relative the numbers of those other cars on the road. I just think the Enzo is to close to the edge of the envelope for the real world, even a long straight road.

The thing is an Enzo crash is often followed by a lot of attention.
Everytime a 911 turbo is written off there is not worldwide following of the event. When you think how many Enzo's were made and how many crashes there has been it is not that bad. I can only think of two examples of a fully written off enzo.

Think Carrera GT as well, especially with the on going court case in the US after the Ferrari track day accident.

No, you are not alone. I suggested the same when Frank Mountain's one was crashed in Botley. I remember when I first got my Elise and drove through a junction across the camber of the main road. I was quite alarmed when the suspension bottomed out, my Peugeot 205 would not have done that. Luckily the resulting 'bounce' was minor and no incident occured. But I can well see how the rapid acceleration and short travel of the Enzo supsension could get people into trouble.

May only be bad luck, pick up a nail in a tyre = slow air loss, push the car 180+ mph, sudden large drag from deflating tyre, narrow road, off the edge and .
Even quicker if you are one of those drivers with only one hand on the wheel.
Mark.

...and wearing sandals, ciggie dangling out of other hand, squinting at the speedo to see if thats a '1' or a '2'...

Why have the seats got red halfords style covers on them??
Edited by I HATE GATSO on Thursday 3rd August 18:20
Looks like the owner is going to be using the seats again. Would look very cool mounted correctly in a contempory house.
Friend comes round:
Friend: Wow cool seats, where did you get them?
Owner: Oh you know when i paid the $5000 to thrash the enzo?
Friend: Yeah
Owner: Well thats all i had left that wasn't broken and the insurance company let me keep them as a momento!

The actor was placed in an ambulance but was not believed to have suffered serious injuries. He joked about the crash after leaving the ambulance. Referring to himself he quipped, "...the brother can't drive!"
How lucky was the guy stood watching as the car mounted the wall, he didnt move!

Amazing thing about this new Enzo crash is how the owner takes it so calmly and gives the driver a hug hoping he's unharmed. If it was me I'd probaly strangle the driver. (Maybe that happen off camera.)
He seems like he is restraining himself somewhat, after all it was partially his fault for letting the moron drive it.

The Enzo was owned by the film's executive producer, Daniel Sadek, whose exotic car collection was featured in the movie.
Sadek said the car was beyond repair and that he had "mixed feelings" about the wreck.
"I'm glad Eddie came out of the crash OK, but my dream car got destroyed," Sadek said.
"I went to my trailer for about 15 minutes and I thought, there's people dying every day. A lot of worse things are happening in the world."

I was going down Portland street in London on Thursday when a lovely red Enzo appeared out of no where, the driver was driving like a c@ck, weaving his way in and out of busy traffic, and looking at the spectators, it was obvious what would happen. And it did. The next thing and bang, straight into the back of a taxi. Pillock.
He went bright red and of course, it was the taxi drivers fault, as you can imgine....
The crowd of on lookers found it hillarous.
