I park my 360 Spider in disabled bays all the time by choice. As someone else said, most of the people with the stickers aint properly disabled. My opinion is that if they are fit enough to walk round Asda, they are fit enough to walk from the other side of the car park where there is plenty of room. Disabled spaces are great coz a. yer car dont get dinked and b. as the other guy said, they are right outside the shop so you can keep an eye on it. Cool.

If this is a joke, it's not funny. Please work out that some on here have disabled friends and family and these spots are there for a reason. I actually find joking about this subject really sick.

Please occasionally think about others and think yourself lucky you have no disability.

Seen this blokks posts before. The assumption made in the last sentence is wrong.

which blokks and what assumption pray tell???

The assumption that you have no disability. They don't always show.

Remember going to sainsburys in the TVR Cerbera and parking in the Mother (Sexist!) and Baby space. I had two poeple descend on me within seconds. The irony being that my 1 year old was in the car with me! Soon shut them up. Having said that one of them went off on one for a few minutes.

Yep.

Got some really black looks when I plonked my 328GTS in a parent and child space at the local Asda.

The fact that I had my 5 year old daughter with me didn't seem to stem the righteous indignation.

When I returned there was a hoard of uppity mothers hissing and tutting and desperate to have a go.

I am ashamed to say that I smugly brandished my small child at them before leaving them simmering in a large puddle of vitriol.

absolutely right. it just breeds resentment for people with nice cars. how do you expect to get away with anyway? you have to be sneaky to park in a disabled space & hope you dont get spotted. doing it in a bright yellow gallardo spyder is hardly blending into background!

this annoys me because it tars us all with same brush as being arrogant tw*ts simply because we own an exotic, even though i (and most of us here) would never ever park in a disabled spot.

Had this too - hadn't even turned the ignition off when trolley jockey came over shouting the odds. I merely pointed at the occupied baby seat and smiled.

This thing about child and baby spots is all wrong. This is a law enforced by the supermarket/car park owner (in fact in this instance it applies to disabled spots aswell).

Disabled parking is rule 216 Highway code, or at least it was. There is nothing (though I stand to be corrected) on mother and child spots.

If you have a young child then he/she should be properly constrained when you are walking across the car park, therefore no reason to have the spot next to the door.

The extra space I agree with, getting a child in and out of a car means you need to have the doors wide open.

The reason people without kids park in them is the same reason (generally) as they park in disabled spots, because they are closer to the door IMHO

I don't use the spaces now as both my kids now walk. When you go to the super market with a baby/toddler. They don't walk far and trying to push a pram and a trolley around a super market is a no-no. The idea is that, whilst not illegal. It's in recognition that it's difficult shopping with a kid and a nightmare with a baby/toddler. If you don't have kids or have not taken them to the super market then please show some empathy.

Its not any easy task.

Chris, I have a daughter admittedly she is now 14 but was younger once! Maybe we were lucky but she was a dream to take out. we used to use the seats in the trolley. When she was really tiny would just bung the baby seat in the shopping trolley. Mind you she got annoyed from time to time when she got covered in groceries

I used the Mother and child spots up until she was about 6. Still don't agree they have to be near the entrance. The disabled spots most certainly, in fact they should allow them to park inside the store!

The kids space make life easier. I agree with you that i could have managed without them. It's just a damn sight easier to get in and out with them in the Car/carry thing. All space should be bigger really

I agree with the disable spots. Went shopping last night. I was shocked at how many people where parking in the disabled and kids space with no sign of either. Even when there where normal space next to them!

It's a selfish country at the moment

Parking a 430 spider in a disabled spot is fully justified. It helps avoid door and trolly dings. Its also usualy easier to keep an eye on it. Furthermore the driver may well have a disability anyway.

Contender for top ignorant post of 2006, this kind of behaviour makes all Ferrari drivers out to be complete pillocks and probably increases the likelyhood of dings and key-ing.

If he wants to avoid dings then go park it in the far corner of the car park or take the everyday car to the supermarket. Since when were you able to easily keep an eye when you go in to a supermarket through the walls - pah.
