Carrera Sport days at Goodwood in the 80s
Discussion
Same here! I went to many of the Goodwood and Castle Combe ones in the late eighties/early nineties...ah the days of regulatory pearl white Countaches...funny how things come full circle with white gallardos and LP's being all the rage.
Recall all of those cars you mentioned and have stacks of photos too, mainly of the Lambos and Ferraris despite foolishly throwing some out many years back
Often went along with a friend who owned a white Espada SIII which he resprayed a beautiful light metallic blue, I was only a teenager at the time and it was heaven. Have a great picture taken leaning out of the passenger window the Espada of about a dozen countaches in front of us on a parade lap around Goodwood.
Got a photo of me sitting in the pink Countach - horrendous hair style and pink le shark jumper...mmm nice!!!
I also have some video footage lying round on video somewhere.
They were fantastic days. Recall Mike having plenty of ding dongs with another countach S though this was a series 2 version - reg GKJ 854X) - started off in gold and ended up either black or a very dark blue colour.
I would honestly have too many to scan but will too try and post some.
Thanks for bringing up great memories of great days.

I've just dug out a shed load of photo's of the super car test day at Castle Coombe circa '88 & '89. I'll try to get these posted up in the next couple of days.
My mate was actually lucky enough to win the trip in the Countach in '89 (he didnt even like cars which completely narked me!!), but they managed to get me in a 308 (number plate was 88 GYL). And that's where my obsession began. It was with a guy who I remember was a solicitor, quite short, balding and a bit 'rotund'. If this rings any bells with anyone I'd just like to say thanks again for a 'top ten' memory

360boy - that is the weirdest thing! I struggle to recall that car or at least the number plate and can't seem to find any pics - will check my negs at some point for you just in case. The Espada is big fav of mine and always took plenty of pics when I say them. The regulars I recall are a lovely metallic grey S3 (PLK 160L), a couple of gold ones S3's reg 1 GYO and S2's GBC 9 with nice gold and black S3 wheels...mmm...oh and 5803 TW - Tony Wilkinson???? - red S2.
My friend's S3 was KBD 824N. Didn't even have to loko that number up - I still know it! Beautiful car after it came back from Colin Clarke's.
Will try and stick some more shots up over the next week.
Oh yeah I too recall a 308 GT4 stuffing it rearwards into the tyres which seemed to have two number plates. Got a photo or at least the neg of that somewhere too!
