RE: Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera

I suspect if you're capable of stretching to £160K for a Gallardo then £190 or so for a Murcielago isn't a quantum leap in pricing, and that's what I'd go for.
In my experience it's not price that dictates which Lambo people buy but what they want from the car.
The Murci is more pose-worthy, the Gallardo more chuckable.
Most buying a Gallardo can afford a Murci, I know I could have. Ergo, they make a choice based on factors other than cost.
A Superleggera would totally kick a Murci's ass ( even an LP) in everything but outright top speed. It weighs half a tonne less fer Chrisakes. Why you would pay £40K more? Just to pose?
Discuss.
Well.. you would say that, wouldn't you
I disagree, just because they can afford a Murci doesn't mean they can justify spending that kind of money on a car.
Because of it's relative affordability it's why the Gallardo has sold so many.
If the Murcielago was £115K new it would have sold shedloads more, why ? Because at £180K vs £115K price is a prohibitive factor for many.
Ergo, having a Gallardo at a similar price point as a Murci means it falls into the "too expensive for what it is" category for many.

I'm sure we could debate this forever.
Its amazing for me to read that some of you either own a Gallardo or have a SL coming. I hope one day I am able to own one, dont get me wrong, I am looking at second hand 575s at the mo' pref with fiorino handling, on finance of course, but what with insurance and reg' living expenses and all, and Im at the top of my game - employed and that SL is way beyond me. Count yourselves lucky, thats all.
