You seem to have wandered into the world of purity of design, turbo's and boomerang tail lights by mistake.
Sorry, we don't do watered down Americanised versions on this thread.

3200GT,
I am in need of the 3200gt workshop manual. May I?
I am looking into buying a 2002, aqua green 3200gt. The bad thing is it must have sat under the sun for a long time that the leather covering the dashboard has bubbles beneath. I want to check is it possible to remove the whole dashboard and have upholstery to redo the leather. I am a perfectionist, i cant stand a sight of those bubbles ruining the Italian beauty.

I'm driving a 2001 3200GT at the moment. Could someone please pass some owner's manuals to me? At the moment, I'm just wondering what the buttons on the central console are - there's one unmarked one on the top row on the left (passenger side).

A nice car to drive but some niggly problems so far - passenger side wiper died (pending repair), occasional 'error oil' messages as well as the red engine symbol appearing sometimes at start up.

Chobo, send me an email so I have your email address, I don't have an electronic copy of the handbook, but I will scan the page in the handbook and send it to you.
The red engine symbol will appear at start up, once the systems have run their checks, takes about 5 seconds, it will go out. Only then turn the starter motor over.
Many owners do not do this, even though it is the standard procedure, and as a consequence get all kind of spurious error messages.

Sorry I disagree. Starting before the diagnostic sequence completes means that the ECU does not read the error log, and map the errors to limp parameters.

If you have a dodgy knock sensor (common as they get damaged (not that they do not continue to work) by very minor coolant leaks) starting quickly will stop the engine running in a semi limp mode (full revs but only about 200bhp) which can only be reset by the Maserati diag box, or if you are (very) clever, a PC.

Changing the knock sensor is a painful job, and the water plumbing is so badly designed (15 hose connections in the vicinty of the KS) it really is a suck it and see job to see if you create another leak. After 2 pairs of KS, I gave up and lived with it. My car has been fine ever since.

You will certainly not get any extra error messages by starting the engine immediately.

I've just had a look in the handbook and it doesn't say. Top LH side on a right hand drive car is for one of the electrical optional extras I'd guess. Mine is also not marked. Pressing doesn't appear to anything either.

Thanks.

I was driving a 10 year old Mercedes A190 a few weeks ago smile The Maserati is actually in my girlfriends name, she upgraded from an Alfa 156 - I went to a Alfa 147 Sportiva which she finds more practical. My loss eh?

Hey 3200gt,

I am looking to obtain the workshop manuals for a DB9 I have just picked up 3 weeks ago. 3200GT, sorry to ask but is there any chance you still have these? I am already finding the need to make some 'tweaks' so to speak. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All the best and no problem if not.
