I have had various interactions with Amari for a number of years, I've never purchased a car from him - came extremely close in 2013 and then he helped me purchasing my current Diablo.

He's different, and doesn't like being messed around - but then does anyone?
I always find him helpful, very straight to the point, and honest.

Would I consider buying a car from him ? Yes, I would.

Agreed. I've spoken t to him a couple of times about buying a car. I've been to his dealership and also met him at a drive out. He let my wife and I go off for a drive in one of his lambos - great show of trust. I didn't buy in the end but I would in future if there's a deal to be done. Not sure what this nonsense above about or where it originates but he's one of the more approachable super car dealers out there. Doesn't patronise you and doesn't do any hard selling.

On a personal note I've spoke to him when he had a stand at the NEC and also been to his set up.. Chap is decent enough, listens, talks and lets you look at the white of his eyes.. Got a mate who bought an expensive car from them - no probs and he is a fusspot..

One thing you've got to remember is that even though we live in a relatively small country folk are way way different from one county to the next.. First time I went to his showroom a member of staff welcomed me with an unfriendly eyeball and asked 'have I made an appointment'?? I replied 'why is this a Doctors surgery'? He smiled and in we went.... They're different up North!!

I had read bad things about but thought he seemed ok on MILLION POUND MOTORS , he still has that blue Dino for sale !

I find their marketing a bit brash prefer the way TH leaves the cars do the talking.

I bought a car from them using mine as part exchange. A deal was agreed and I drove the car up and had extra parts shipped up, when I arrived I was then say down and told they were not happy with my car and wanted to renegotiate a better deal for them. I agreed to give them another grand even though I knew they had no intention of doing any of the work they listed. I drove the car away and a few days passed. Suddenly they were not happy with the service history of my part ex car and were not willing to contact the garage that did the work. After a few email and phone conversations I decided I would just take the car back from them at the part ex value they have to be free of the bs they were putting up. All through this mind they had put an advert up and asking 10k more than they said they would in negotiation fair enough all dealers do this. So the car is delivered back to me with extra paint scratch on drivers door and missing body pieces which were removed and refitted with hardly any tape (very poor job halfords could have have done better) as well as swirls marks all over the car, who ever they use to clean cars needs a lesson on how to not swirl a car. When accounting for the pieces that I sent up half were missing and when I called to ask where they were the answer given was you have everything. I stayed all items and asked them to properly look for them. After nearly two weeks of non returned calls and emails I sent an email saying I would have the pieces returned or the retail value of them for compensation. Finally they were found and sent down to me.

Would I ever buy a car from then again? Not if they were the last dealer in the uk.

Ive been up to Amari a couple of times. Spoke to Saba and Amari on the phone on several occasions regarding trading my old 12C coupe and more recently my 12C spider. Always courteous and polite. Nice people. Fortunately for me, I've now sold my 12C spider for the asking price so on the hunt for another car.

I just got off the phone to him after enquiring about a GT3 they have in stock, and was told he "couldn't" sell me a car because I want them too cheaply!!

Funniest thing I've ever heard. Who wants to overpay for anything? Just trying to get the best deal I can.

It a shame, because as they were kind enough to spend plenty of time talking to me, even though we didn't manage to get a deal going, I was adamant that my next car was going to come from them.

Oh well. Im sure they won't lose any sleep over it.

I am sure he won't. Perhaps your offer was just to low and he has the right to reject it. Doesn't sound like you have fallen out so just keep talking and negotiating if the car is a good un!!

A car is worth what you want to offer and the seller is willing to accept. On this occasion you didn't agree with each other, doesn't mean he wants to much or you are not offering enough.

I didn't even get a chance to make him an offer! I asked him for his best price. He told me I try to "nick" cars and he said he wouldn't able to sell me a car and put the phone down.

I would understand if I low balled him on a car, but this simply isn't the case.

Ummmh. I finds what the OP says hard to believe - there must be more to this story and more words said and a bit of history between the OP and Amari in my opinion otherwise why would Amari say you try to "nick" cars. Sounds like one of those one sided internet stories again!!

if he said that to me then i'd consider uploading the conversation somewhere on the net (my phone system is cloud based and records all calls)

Is asking "what's your best price?" not effectively reverse low-balling though?

I've seen threads elsewhere on here where people have complained about this exact buyer tactic on lower value cars, and to be honest I can somewhat sympathise.

You must surely know how much you're willing to pay and therefore you can make an offer at that level. Asking them for their "best price" in my humble opinion rather gauche. Granted no one wants to lose money but if you've done your due diligence you stand to lose only a small amount if the seller would've accepted less and - more importantly - I would've thought at this level the relationship is more important than chiseling down every sale so only one party is actually happy?

Having said the above it doesn't excuse an unprofessional response.

"What's your best price" is a strong buying signal, if you don't know how to close a sale after that, then you should get some decent training imo...

I don't think I have ever bought a car without using the words "what is your best price"

I have never been told to leave or that they won't be selling to me again and normally when they give me their best price it isn't actually their best price as they know we have a bit of haggling to do. It's part of the fun of buying a car in my opinion and I quite enjoy it

I wouldn't believe all of this, there are most certainly 2 sides to every story.
