I think they have the best interior of any car, but what about an ascari instead? If you can find one.

As an alternative to a Spyker:

I do of course confess a slight bias. Not as extreme a choice as a Spyker but will give as much of a sense of occasion and damn quick?

A thought anyway smile

Forgot to add, never seen a Spyker build quality so can't compare but the Aero SS is much better built than a TVR smile

How about a Wiesmann Roadster? Has BMW V8 or V10 power under the bonnet and you're as unlikely to run into another one on the road as the Spyker..

Or the GT:

Hi there,

No its still the Spyker for me, although a Morgan Aeromax is tempting.

Now I've seen those pics, I wouldn't take the Spyker over the Aero Supersport or Wiesmann... What a strange-looking back end. Reminds me of this:

If you were going for Spyker it would have to be one of these ones!

I was also going to suggest the Weismann, it's an awesome looking car and being mainly BMW running gear, I would imagine servicing/reliability wouldn't be an issue.

Completely Off Topic - but this is why this is my favorite section of PH. I love the fact that people actually get to make these decisions. It's a nice problem to have.
My thoughts exactly. A kind of "positive" envy.

I believe they are fantasticly engineered but the looks just don't do it for me at all.

Sorry.

The Morgan hasn't got quite the sense of occasion of the Spyker to me, but then it is half the price and I do like the looks.

This may be stating a rather obvious choice? But how about a McLaren SLR (various versions)? I havnt had the joy of driving one, but judging from numerous reviews, these are hypercar quick yet comfortable and easy to live with? Seems to match your needs.

Other suggestions from me would be:
  • Mercedes SL65 Black series
  • Mercedes SLS
  • Bentley GT Supersport
  • Bentley Brooklands
All of which are plenty quick and comfortable when needs be.

How about an Alfa 8C? Looks great, sounds great, goes well, holds it's value.

I like the Spyker, but only with no lid on, whereas the 8C works in both styles.

That just looks like a complete abomination.

The first pic looks like an MGF that has had too much plastic surgery.

OP what a lovely position to be in ! smile

I love Spyker's. A very good friend of mine had one at his disposal for a while and was kind enough to take me out in it. Not the quickest of machines (but you already know that) but, as previously mentioned - the sense of occasion with these things is unbelievable ! The noise is fantastic and there is not one component on the car that i could find that hadn't had hours and hours and hours of attention to detail spent on it. Whether one thinks they are a good looking car or not boils down to the saying : Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think they're great and almost boarding on a work of art.

I'll have a root around for the pictures of the one that my mate had for a bit for you.
