Would buy one any day!
AmandaL, did you get one?

Bertie???? Where are you? Did you get one? As I understand, the production (not officially) stopped, and you'd either get a C8 Spyder or Laviolette very quickly, or you wait for the Aileron. The two are like day and night: Compare a Lotus Elise with a DB9.

If you need a sample of the sound. See http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c...

Alternatively, I can really recommend Bugatti type 35 (1925-29). You can get excellent driving and sound experiences, plus you don't necessarily need an original. There are plenty of very good recreations around, like the ones from Argentina (Anadon, Pur Sang).

Phil (BossCerbera) had a go in one:

I seem to remember he loved it.

IMHO the styling is an acquired taste, and after seeing a few, I quite like them.

Nothing wrong with the Audi gear, it's well tested and sorted, so it shouldn't give you many issues.
The latest Morgans actually use bog standard BMW gear, same reasons.

I do prefer the Aeromax or Aero 8 SuperSports, but they're more expensive used. If you want a new car, they are cheaper though. The latest Aeros do seem to have a problem with electrics, i'm told.

Choices choices wink

Tell ya wot, ill take you out in my Sagaris!!! My bro owns a lp640 and when he drove my Sagaris after collection he was blown away by sense of occasion you get from her. The noise, the drive of a machine that needs constant input from the driver is immense! And the build of my Sagaris while the Russian guy owned them is bloody superb! Really!!!!! Ive just got in from a blast from Norwich and i really cant imagine that theres another car that expects you to drive it properly and have to point it in the right direction constantly while the noise reminds you that she will rip ya head off at anytime if you misbehave. The ride of her is racing car style and by golly it handles mint!

If i wanted i could afford some pretty cars out there, but my Sagaris puts a massive driving grin on my face everytime.driving

Spykers are stramnge cars. In my opinion, the lack of exterior beauty is certainly made up internally. Re-sale i believe would be difficult and I just wouldnt buy one as i dont think they'll be around too lond with exterior designs like that.

I've been pondering a change of direction in car buying but I've never really settled on anything, until now.

I've done the Ferrari / Lambo thing and something has been niggling away at me for a while, a feeling that all the obsession with speed and lap times is somehow irrelevant to using your car on the road.

I've thought about more GT stuff like F612 or Aston, even Bentley, but they just don't excite me for some reason. I've even though about ditching the whole fast car thing and going for luxury, Flying Spur or Range Rover even, but I just know I'd be bored within days.

Now in a strange moemnt of clarity I think I really like Spykers!

I know they are not the fastest but they are fast enough, and that's the whole point, they have style!

Or do I need to go and lie down in a darkened room?
What about a McLaren SLR?
