I was most fortunate to get a ride in Bebessen's 360 Modena at Bruntingthorpe today. I've been a Ferrari fan for a good few years and read the various reports and posts from owners or other fans. It was my first time even sitting in a Ferrari. I keep reading that there is something special about a Ferrari, but its hard to describe.

I can completely agree with this thought. The experience starts when you open the door and realise that you're about to get into a Ferrari. You sit down and look around. Looking behind yourself you can see the glorious V8 engine. It's sitting there in a docile manner, just waiting to be unleashed down the track.

There is a real aura inside the cabin. The build quality is solid but feels almost alive, in that the car is more than mechanical. Once Brian turned the key, the V8 sparked into life before regaining a gentle rhythm. It's the stereotypical ferrari sound; a sense of what's to come, and then the accelerator is dabbed and the howling shreak of the Tubi comes into play.

We lined up next to Adamt in the M5 and the battle commenced

We got the early lead although it was a bit too close to relax. We pushed on down to the right hander that sends us towards the main runway.

Once the main runway was beneath us the climb towards our V-Max continued and it impressed me how sure-footed the 360 felt. It's not a big car at all, but felt planted all the way up to the top speed of 171mph.

The braking was equally impressive, feeling very balanced and progressive down to the cornering speed.

The whole experience summed up the saying that one buys a Ferrari with one's head. It's a lot of money to spend on a car, but then there is a lot more to a Ferrari than just the physical car state.

Many thanks to Brian for giving me this experience, and here's a pic of his car with the backdrop of Bruntingthorpe

yep, me too mate. The Porkers are fantastic bits of kit and the ride with CZ in the Turbo was something else. But Ninja made my day with the ride in the 360. Truly stunning, although I did have to wash my jumper to get rid of the smell of cooked brakes. Would have brought some bacon if i'd known.

"hello meredien, do you take TVR's in part exchange...."

not just me the shnozz Ive been smelling burnt clutch and brakes all morning

I didnt get a ride in a Ferrari felt a bit too shy to go up and ask someone I don't know to have a go in their shiny red cars. By the time I'd plucked up the currage to ask for some rides the ferrari's had gone

But they definately sounded the sweetest of the day got a vid of 2 silver 355's and they sound amazing. Or they did until Kevin had a go in his CS (funny way of running it in )and the valves opened what a sound more higher pitched than the Murci sounds more like an F1 car.

360 CS definately added to my wish list

I thought the same thing when I was looking at Brian's and Rich's cars lined up side by side on the grid. The belt line rising up over the haunches- just magnificent.

ditto ricos comments, the 360 was the car that really did it for me. The noble too raw, the RUF too easily fast - the 360 seemed to have the perfect balance. There is also that something that is the Ferrari experience - again, cant describe it, I just want one. If I could have taken any car home with me, it would have probably been that 360 except of course, there was a slightly more appealing (IMHO) one parked up - the CS, what a car!!!!!!!

360Challenge Stradale for me please, if its anything like the standard car but with more of that special-ness, I WANT IT! NOW. Everything about that car was just right, quite lucky I didnt get a ride in it actually. The local Banks will be safe for the moment atleast...

Thanks again 456mgt, an absolute privelage to follow/ be near/ sit in your fabulous car. Thanks also to brian, you dont know what you have started... I hope the Ferrari PR guys pay you for your efforts, thats atleast two cars sold because of you alone.

Great Photo - thanks!

I probably didn't manage as many runs as I should have i.e. more passenger rides but once my clutch started slipping - I thought best not to.
Being replaced next week (no - not the car for a CS sadly - just the clutch. SEE WHAT YOU'VE DONE KEVIN!!!

On that note I must say that Challenge Stradale is absolutely awesome!! Beautiful spec Kevin and I do agree - the stripe is a must in spite of cost.
Has anyone ever seen brakes that large?? Talk about dustbin lids... made my standard calibers look like they were from a bike ;o)
Did I hear something about an exhaust system Kevin..?
.... the balance between the sound and the race quick paddle shift was just unbelievable - thumbs up!!!

Trackdemon. Sorry to take you a bit off road - had to chose the exact place carefully in order to hit that sign! Grrrrrr....

Thanks to Tony for the Diablo ride - my first ever..
As you say Tony, the carbon fibre looks superb - but what's the point when 'someone' turns up with the inside of the car looking like a Kevlar factory - yeah - I'm talking about you again Kevin.. )
Kidd soon Tony?

Good to see all - amazing turnout and a great bunch of people. See you all soon!

Cheers

360 is much more beautiful in the flesh than in any photo ive seen. I tried my best today though:

If only there were events like that around here. Damn boring america.

Was it a PH only thing or were there other people there from elsewhere?

Nice pic! I'd love to get unlimited access to vehicles of this calibre so I could take some quality pics...

Here's one of the actual car in question:

That angle makes the 360 look more like the classical Ferrari shapes. Fantastic!
