No welcome! That shot of the engine room; well I have seen and shoted GT Diablo's engine, I have seen Maserati MC12 engine, mut this BMW V12 I haven't seen yet. Very very interesting shot indeed. THANKS!

OK, silly question here and no doubt Peloton will have an answer biggrin but why don’t the race cars have rear windows, surely they would be useful???
Fairly simple reason - a few layers of carbon are going to be lighter than glass.

The 1995 GTRs still had the glass cockpit windows but by mid-season most of them were covered by a thermal blanket to help keep heat out of the cockpit. This would have rendered them useless, but GTRs didn't have inside rear view mirrors to begin with. I think the rear wing pretty much wipes out most of the view you would have.

The GTR in these photos is a 1996-spec and removing that glass would have been one of the many updates McLaren developed to bring the car closer to a true racer. Many of the later GTRs also had the glass removed from the rear engine cover, again in an effort to save weight.

Also wanted to add a thanks to Andy for taking his time to make this happen. smile

They are brilliant pictures!!!

Very jealous, I have never seen a F1 in the metal and would love the chance to shoot one and get a ride in one.

What kit did you use?

Can I ask a quick question as I have never actually seen the car in the flesh, is it red or pink??
It's fluorescent pink. And incredibly hard to photograph!
Aha that explains it, thought the red was a tad over exposed! But yeah awesome - wonderful subject matter, the interior shot is madness!!!

How about a picture of me sitting inside the car?

Or my rig attached to the car?

thats clearly your brothers car, your mothers porsche and youve hired the sat-nav. I have unmasked you as a fake and claim my five pounds!

On a serious note, what a great opportunity maximised!
