He is a true ambassador.

How on earth do you get your car out of customs sans insurance docs? Surely if you get done for speeding there will be problems.

Although a fantastic display of cars, hopefully the loon in the GT2 will show them how it's done.

The 'Loon' in the GT2 is one of my clients!

Does Rob have his Carerra GT yet? As i assume you're his insurance broker?

Not to my knowledge, although suprisingly enough I'm usually the last person he thinks of telling when he gets a new motor!

Current list:

Lamborghini Gallardo
Porsche GT-2
BMW M5
Audi A3 S3

And a Porsche GT3 potentially on the horizon.

Can't really say too much about it, client confidentiallity and all that

Sure do. He's possibly the most famous enthusiast out there, who's famous for that and not something else like Nick Mason, JayKay etc are.

Can't wait to hear of his exploits from this years Gumball

Wow, this year's line up is way better than the American Gumball 3000 that so many of us have bought the DVD of.
What's really exciting is the prospect of seeing 3 Big Macs out there. You might expect rich dudes to turn out in their latest toys....ie Enzos, Koenniggggsssseeggyyyy-thingy, but the Macca has a mistique to it. You some how don't expect someone to subject one to the Gumball. I am delighted 3 people intend to though, I can't wait to buy the DVD. Hope the Cuban blokes are on it again.
I tried to blag a place on this year's rally as the "event doctor" and save myself the 8 grand entry fee. Didn't work. Time to start saving up.

Ahem!

Are we forgetting that you can fit two birds in a Macca? This is why there are three of them. We British/Euro boys know that 12 hours stints need a bit of on board stimulation

Well I'd take two birds

Is there a website that lists the current entries and the route they will be following?

Don't get your hopes up regarding the Macca(s). I quote a post taken from this link:
Peloton25 - Walking F1 Encyclopaedia said:
No offense to TCC, but it's probably the same source that said there would be an F1 running last year's trip across the USA, even though the one-way distance of the trip would exceed the yearly mileage allotment given by the DOT's Show&Display guidelines.

I think every year they have tried to hype the event by mentioning that an F1 (or multiple F1s) would be participating. Most here are aware of the LMs participation in the '99 Gumball across Europe. There is also recent evidence that shows an F1 road car participated in at least a portion of the Gumball the following year. Since then, I can recall they have always listed an F1 as an expected participant, but none have ever materialized. We'll have to wait and see if this year's event offers a repeat of the past few. I'm not holding out a lot of hope though.
That forum is the authorative source for all things F1, and Peloton25 is a walking Brittania of F1 information.

And based on this, I'm not holding out much hope for the credibility of 5 Enzos either...

D

Hope to be proven wrong though!
