Can anyone recommend someone in the E/N London area that can refurb rims? Anyone done this on their 360 yet? Can they be done in a day?

Kerbed the sh!t out of mine already whilst learning to park it but now used to the width I wanna get them done.

Thanks T.

have to confess to being the original 'park it like you stole it' kid.Have made enquires about rims on my porker.Switched off after about 30 seconds of the bloke talking about how they are soaked in something, etc etc.Anyhow, like you I thought they could do it in a day.Found out its about a week to get it done properly.Let me know if you find out different. He could've been pulling my leg,I've no idea.

Verdi did my rear rims in a day, tho' the car was in for a belt change and sevice at the time. They have a mobile guy who visits their shop.

Do you think theres any money to be made in being a mobile wheel refurbisher? Go to someones office and do them while the owner is working?

Its been done! There are a few companies that specifically do wheels, they have been mentioned on PH in the past (try a search on wheel repairs). Other SMART repair companies also do them along with other paintwork and trim repair options - ChipsAway for example; someone on here was recommending them just the other day (though not for wheels specifically).

Search the 'net and you'll find SMART equipment suppliers who'll sell you nice machines for regrinding rims (with the tyres in situ), and kits to colour match and spray.

My mate does all the wheels on P1's Ferraris, and also various other dealers, in fact he was doing the wheels on one of those lightweight 360's (excuse my ignorance, I can't remember the name of the damn thing).

He normally works the Surrey area, (Egham, Weybridge etc)...but is mobile and will do them in a few hours. Lives in Bognor - so anywhere in between is fine too. He'll travel a bit further if you need all 4 doing...but he only charges around £50 a wheel so won't travel far for 1 re-furb - not worth his time. If you need all four doing though....

He's bloody good, just did my M3 and my mates V6 Clio on Saturday, 8 wheels in a little over 4 hours. Excellent job, but I know he does 'Rarris, Porkers, Mercs etc every day.

If anyone wants his number mail me.

Hey Big T!

You enjoying the car? You'd better be mate.

I just had my alloys done at Verdi. Great job.
In fact the whole car was like new when I picked it up.
Engine bay, rims etc etc. Completely clean.
There may be a certain lack of organisational skills at Verdi but boy do they know what they are doing.
My new clutch actually feels like butter and is lighter than my Cooper S! Amazing stuff.

Now the sad part. Having trouble getting the car in the garage.. ramp too step and garage too narrow to slot car in..
I'll put a mail out to see if anyone in Wapping might be able to help or suggest a solution.

Still happy with it? and did you get the speedo sorted in the end?

Sorry to miss you on Sunday but as Steve may have explained - I got the car in, just, but cannot get it out until ramp is sorted (

Hi Brian,

Am I enjoying the car?? That's like asking me if I don't like the female gender!!!...mate, this cars the bollox, I've done many miles in it so far and enjoyed every moment...I have many stories to tell you so let's meet up soon with Tony, Steve etc..for a few beers and a chuckle...

The car's been in getting some work done and is now ready to pick up...Speedo all fixed thank god, this is something I cannot live without, I managed to get it to read over 200MPH!!..also had a few LED's out on the third brake light and got them to adjust the clutch settings as it was very aggressive when pulling away...Have you seen the ECU software in action?? My god, how clever are these cars?? It's amazing what you can do to the car via the software..I really wanna get the rims back to new again as they are making the car look scruffy. Once they're done, I'm gonna buy some Stradale rims and keep the others for track days maybe.

Sorry to hear your predicament with the garage...at least you have an option of a garage Hope you get it sorted soon...Are you coming out to play this Sunday??

Yeah lets meet up soon - say the word.
Glad you like the car - I recall when I picked mine up too - its such an experience driving that thing - sure you know what I mean by now ;o)
Alloys easy to sort out - don't worry.

Think Manu at Scuderia has some challenge rims for sale recently..

Not sure about SUnday - at the moment I can't even get the car OUT of the garage. We laid some carpet down and lifted it up the ramp... no way I can get down on my own and certainly not early Sunday morning sadly...

Keep me posted though - I'll be there before you know it..

Cheers

Ill buy you a beer tonight to commiserate!
