Anyone remember Pullicino Classics?
Discussion
On the subject of - "do you remember" - years ago, I used to get the train down from Yorkshire and always make sure I had enough time to go and slaver over the stock at "Autodrome" near kings cross. They had more Ferrari s and other exotic cars than I'd ever seen in my life and I'd dream of the day I could one day walk in and buy a car from them. Unfortunately one day this did happen and I bought an Alfa Spider off them - they promised to fix a hole in the exhaust before I collected it, when I turned up to collect it they told me they hadn't had time to do it but could repair it the next week which was no use whatsoever as I had come down on the train and was leaving the next morning to drive to Italy in the Spider - I recall spending ten days chugging round Italy with a blowing exhaust and the air filter falling off every thirty miles !
I vaguely re call the chap who ran it - who I think was called Tom/Tim Hardiman (?) having the biggest argument I'd ever witnessed with a guy who'd stored his new 355 there, and the car had been reversed into a corner and the gearbox was wedged onto a "kerb" in the corner of the store with the full weight of the car resting on it ! a very entertaining twenty minutes !

I remember these 2 brothers in Knutsford (Laurence & Carl Cookson) who sold a car rental business for quite a few ££ in the 80's - they always had 2 brand new Lambo's parked up in King St (Knuts), I remember standing for what seemed like hours staring at their matching Countach's, then Diablo's then various Murci's - was the highlight of my day seeing those two cruising through town in convoy.
Oddly I ended up buying an 05 Murci from Lambo M'Cr that belonged to one of them (I ended up even running the thing with Laurence's plate on it whilst it was going on retention) - as I kid I would never have dreamt I would own one of their cars
Happy days.

Sorry for re igniting this old thread....but,
Wow...Can't believe I've stumbled across this thread. I can't believe that Mark P has passed away. I knew and dealt with these guys for about 18 months, as I had a detailing business in Fulham at the time. I had been driving past the showroom in Kimber Rd for years, just to get a glimpse of the cars on display. Its great reading the same kind of posts on here. I thought I was a bit of a freak! I would stand there for an Hour, and get my mates really angry cos I didn't want to leave.
After many visits to the showroom, in a 'professional' capacity, as a detailer, I was lucky enough to put together a deal with John and Mark.
I subsequently took in many of the cars talked about in this thread.
I drove the Sky blue Bugatti EB110 that had just been seen on the Jez Clarkson DVD, wearing the reg 30 DCD. I can't remember which way round it went, but straight after the EB100 left my workshop, I had a Red Diablo delivered to me. The guy who bought the Diablo, then bought the EB110, or the other way round, as they both had the same reg. Anyway, which ever way round it was, I do remember what I thought at the time..........Lucky Person!! or words to that effect.
I also had the yellow K5 twin turbo Testarossa pictured above. I have some photos of all 3 cars, so I'll put them up, just in case its of interest to anybody.
I doubt very much that I'll be able to explain the sound of that K5. I had a 2000Sq Ft workshop, with a very high ceiling, and I get goosebumps just thinking about the sound it made when slightly revved up. Oh My Lord....never, and I mean NEVER have I heard a sound like it. In the words of Jezza it sounded like 'the room that God would go into to gargle". I'm sure you can probably imagine that sound when you take a look at the 4 exhaust pipes sticking out the rear end!
My team and I did, even if I say so myself, make all 3 of these cars look amazing. Its not easy making a clean car look better, but somehow we managed to add a bit more by doing a lot more.
I will do my best to get the pics up, but they are all photos in an album, so I can't guarantee the quality.
Very sad though that Mark is no longer with us. I remember them being so lucky at the time, with all they had, and with a certain amount of jealousy, I did want to be like them. Just goes to show you that we never know whats around the corner do we. Live it.....

Here's a photo from Pullicino Classics mid to late 1990s. I always loved calling by Pullicinio Classics and also The Garage on The Green which was only a couple of stops away on the District line.
If that's a Maritime RS next to the Countach, I'd date that pic to 1997/early 1998. I looked at that car...JuniorD said:
When I posted and re-read the earlier posts I thought that might have been the same RS you mentioned. So why didn't you buy any of the Countaches on either side?
Simple answer to that - I needed something with space in the rear for a baby seat as well. I didn't buy that RS becaause it had definitely had a bang - the ABS unit had been relocated back to where it is on the road car and the bracket where it should have been sited had been partially cut off. IIRC it also had 3 Mag wheels and one replica....millspeed88 said:
Hi guys. I've tried to put the pics up of the pullicino cars, but for some reason its not appnin!
When I use the 'upload image' jobby, it does the buffering symbol, but then says that there is no photo.
Help please !!
Steve
Should be quite easy. Browse, find photo and upload. Details of photo then appear in the message box. When you preview, it should show the photo. Make sure photo is not more than 2MB. When I use the 'upload image' jobby, it does the buffering symbol, but then says that there is no photo.
Help please !!
