Apologies for the small size of the pictures, but for some irritating reason our system won't allow us to upload anything more hi-res...I'm told our tech monkeys geniuses are working on it...
Hi Matt, I hope that we're not going to have a fall out over this, but are you sure you'll be able to upload the high res images e.g. my copyright????Mark Smith said:
I was marshalling there friday and sunday. I was on post 1 just before the bridge on sunday. We got soaked but it was an awesome weekend yet again. The photos and videos are very good. I hope the weather is much better next year! The whole event just gets better every year!
I was helping with the sporting bears dream rides chatting to you, I think on Friday.I like the 3 day format, as usually I don't get to see anything but Lodge corner (which isn't too bad ;-) ) due to being busy with the dream rides.
Wandering around the paddock on Friday with just a handfull off people including the likes off Derek Bell and Juha Kankunnen was a bit surreal
I think this is a great event, you can get up close to the cars and drivers, can see driving at some of its best and again up close. The military display is very good, as are the helicopters and aerobatic planes.
We at the sporting bears dream rides had 20 plus cars each day raising money by going out on passaeger rides including a 1930's Bentley, Ferrari 275 GTB (alloy), XJ220, DeLorean, Nissan GTR's, Ferrari Dino, Lancia Integrale, Marcos, Lotus Elise, lamborghini murcielago, Jag XK, Healey 3000, Aston Martin V8 and DB2/4, Cortina with 250bhp of power, Westfield, X-Bow, Ultima GTR to name but a few and various Porsche's 964 rs, gt3, 911 4s, 911 turbo and including the Rothmans 911 rally car pictured in the story which when the owner, Adrian Kemode, wasn't going around the the track or rally section he was allowing it to go out on passenger rides to raise money for charity.
A big big thankyou for all the donations to the sporting bears charity, I'm sure you all enjoyed the passenger rides out(see 964 rs comment) and as a reminder every last penny goes to the charity the drivers and helpers give up their time and pay for their own fuel and costs, so also a big thanks to them.
The policeman at the end of the run also liked his burger on sunday. Will delivered it in his Lambo i think, now that's a take away service.

Lawrence, of course not - but I think you need to talk to the agency who released the images as 'free for editorial use'

Riggers - the 'cheeky beggars' remark wasn't intended to be serious... Apologies if it came across as such. I don't have PH down as that type of outfit really.
Suppose I should have used one of the emoticons as well.
Cheers!
No worries. Remember - the emoticon is your friend (etc)Suppose I should have used one of the emoticons as well.

This looks a brilliant event. I used to live not far from here but moved to Nottingham 4 years ago - Doh.
Everyone has their favourites and I suppose mine are the late 70s early 80s rally cars. That HSR Chevette in mid yump, that quattro S1 and the Rothmans Escort RS (recognise the number plate, saddo alert!) are stunning.
I'll have to drag one of my sons along next year.
