Mercedes-Benz World Sunday Service: 11/09/11

PH returns to MBW for our annual visit to the land of all things Mercedes.

At Mercedes-Benz World, you.....
At Mercedes-Benz World, you.....
The British GP, Goodwood, Le Mans 24 and the first screening of the ‘holidays are coming’ Coca Cola advert are all things we look forward to every year. Lucky PHers can also look forward to heading towards the twirling three-pointed star glistening in the Weybridge sunshine as we welcome you for the annual PH/M-BW Sunday Service taking place on Sunday 11th September.

We always get a good turnout for these meets, Mercedes-Benz World in particular, so if you have never been to a PH meet before this is the one you need to try to attend.

Much like Riggers's dress-sense, some things haven’t changed in years, and the M-BW event is no different. Why change something that works (although Mr R is well overdue a change)? The tried-and-tested Mercedes-Benz World format of a huge expanse of tarmac alongside a fantastic race track, adjacent to a huge venue packed with interesting cars, a choice of eateries and a host of ‘pay to play’ driving activities will continue for 2011 and we’ll be able to welcome 700 cars on the day.

.....must always drive sideways
.....must always drive sideways
As usual you will need to ensure that you add your name to the calendar to reserve your space. PHers who have a space numbered 1-700 will be reserved a space, all others will be added to a reserve list and you’ll need to ensure you have a space within the 700 to be guaranteed entrance by the PH door team (us lot).

Never been to a Sunday Service before? It’s an easy-going format of arrive, park (no heroics please) and admire other PHers' cars. When you’re ready, breakfast will be available inside the Mercedes-Benz World building and you’ll also be able to sign up for a range of driving activities, some of which will be laid on especially for PHers. Gates open for 09.00 and we’ll close the Sunday Service element at 13.00, but M-BW is open all day, so you can stay for as long as you like.

Free sticker, we do look after you!
Free sticker, we do look after you!
Sunday Service meets are sponsored by Adrian Flux Insurance, and thanks to them we will hand you a sought-after Sunday Service sticker and an ‘Order of Service’ as you arrive. We’ll also invite you to vote for your car of the show, details of which will be on your Order of Service on the day.

Thanks once again to all at Mercedes-Benz World for allowing us to return, and we look forward to seeing you there on the day.

Don't forget that you need to add your name to the calendar to reserve one of the 700 spaces available. To add your name to the calendar please click this link

MBW was great last year, looking forward to it again. Look out for myself and Mrs K in the pair of red/blue MR2s complete with baby seats smile

Tried to go last year. Only I turned up a week early wondering where the hell everyone was! Good job I only had to come a couple of miles...

Great event this, went with my dad in 2009, in a brand new , high up, e class (220 cdi)courtesy car (!) after a old man drove into the side of his merk just one week before. Bet we looked a bit silly, like we parked in the wrong car park. Still use the MB quality pen on bought on the day.
Seams a good idea doing "car of the show/service" will that happen at all ss's now?
The f40 that came in 09 was no doubt the winner that day... cloud9

My birthday weekend too, be nice to me on the gate as I should be in bed nursing a monumental hangover but instead I will be fresh to welcome you all on the day.

Being a NOOB to the Sunday Service life style smile got my name down on the list do you get some sort of entry pass issued before the event or do they just cross check the car to the list on the day??

We ask for your PH username on the gate, if that's on the list then you're in.

The down side is that this clashes with the 1000km's of Silverstone frown

If I decided last minute that I wanted to come, but not to display, could I park somewhere else and still get in?

I may be in the country that Friday on business, so would like to see if I could extend it to the Sunday, but don't want to take up the space of someone who is definite.

Paul do you know what experiences they are looking to run on the day? I'm thinking birthday presents now!

Experience news to follow as it's TBC at the moment. Stand by.

As for parking elsewhere, MBW is blessed with space so that should be fine. My suggestion, however, is to add yourself to the list anyway and remove nearer the time when you know for sure. We'll have a reserve list so the space won't go to waste.
