The mighty CSL 164mph

(but would have gone approx 2-3mph faster in the pm as timing gear moved back but bald tyre stopped play )

Sorry Guys, in process of amalgamating several lists and doing my "real job"

Ruf R Turbo (adamt)192 mph
Ruf RGT2(guy) 190mph
996TTX50(Daz) 189mph
996TTX50(charlie360)188mph
993TT(Der) 185mph

are the top few , send me your vmax's through that you saw on the boards and I will add them in to save time, otherwise the rest up 2morrow.

ps. As always, they may be wrong, if you saw quicker speeds let me know.

I was impressed by your CSL, PhatG - it certainly seemed to hunker down and 'blat orf' with the best of them.

A delightful car, really should have mugged you and relieved you of the key fob.

Chin, chin,

Thanks DeR, the car is a gem. Next time you can mug me!

I have to ration driving the thing, as the engine sound makes me drive like an utter t*t....

Do wot, G'vnor?

Tres odd - the best time I saw was 178 and given the usual discrepencies one can expect (not to mention potentially contrary inter-vehicle experiences [RUF excepted]), je pense el minor case of slightly quizzical eyebrows in the raised position avec mes croissants & pudding noir.

Strange things are afoot at the circle Brunt.

Daz, the timing guys had your 3rd run of the morning marked as 188, Der yours as above, a run in the afternoon. Although maybe you weren't driving

Maybe they've mixed up some cars which look similar, after all the differences between 993 and 996 and Turbo/GT2 are not easy to spot at 180+mph........

Henry was only pulling 181mph in his GT2, so I'd be surprised if Daz's car and DeR's car would beat this so easily. Sounds like they don't think they did either!

Craig,

I still think they're wrong though.

If DeR only saw speeds of 178mph with his own eyes and presumably did several runs at similar speeds, I find it unlikely that an errant 185mph run could be done without noticing.

Similarly for Daz, if he says he saw 182mph and presumably several similar ones, then an unnoticed 189mph seems unlikely.

I have always found that once a couple of runs have been done to acclimatise, that runs are very consistent within a few mph i.e. I did probably 20 runs and all were within about 4mph of each other and about half of them were exactly the same speed (188mph).........
