I wonder if the speed displayed on the boards is different from that which the operators saw on their readout? This might explain the discrepancy.

I suppose its possible, I'll give them a call later.

As I've said before though, doesn't matter how fast we went, its how much fun we had doing it that counts!

Impressive!

I was surprised by my car - one tank of fuel got me from Surrey to Brunters, round and round, then all the way back home again. Then again, I was the slowest

Drat, beaten. Although I did average 12 mpg on the day, so I triumph there.

My max for the day was 175MPH & i averaged 6.8MPG at the track.

Not so sure about the timing equipment though, as most of my runs were 172 & 173MPH & each time my speedo was registering just 180MPH & for some reason my speedo is very accurate as its always within 1MPH of my GPS speed readout (this was not working over 150MPH). On my 175MPH run, the speedo was indicating just under 190MPH so go figure.

All in all, very happy with the Beasts performance on the day.

In the morning (probably second run) the left hand trap flashed up 181mph for the MOD mobile but we certainly weren't doing that - speedo was only registering 175ish.

Check it with GPS the next run and the trap was spot on - we couldn't work it out.

Maybe it was blinded by the yellowness.... or the swarm of bees following us tricked it

We were showing differences of around 16mph from the speedo to the laser. these speeds through up huge inaccuracies which just dont crop up at normal speeds,

all the best

Adam,

On our run we had 200mph+ on the speedo yet 163mph or similar on the laser..

Yes i guess the lasers were off that time perhaps 40mph in those terms is a 20% inaccuracy on the R turbos part which is highly unlikely...

all the best

The speedo on my Tuscan was pretty accurate compared to the speed traps, 165mph on the speedo 164mph on the trap.

Looking at the speeds this time compared to last, average speeds seem to be down about 10mph, if this is true a standard 4.0 Tuscan is very nearly as quick as a Tuscan S or Red Rose.

I saw 169 on my last run.My speedo was showing 185 which seems about right, the digital is normaly 15% out over 100.
All my runs were 2up except my last.
Still had a little left, don't know if i'd be able to stop in time though if the trap was any further back.
note to self:Need bigger brakes, must get bigger brakes.
Maybe the continental exotica didn't like the gloomy skies where as the tivs felt right at home, could explain the lower speeds...maybe?
cheers
