Are there limits on car type or can anything come along for the ride? I'm making an assumption that only speedy performance cars are accepted, what about a classic with a relatively low top/cruising speed?
We simply say the car needs to be reliable and fun to drive. Top speed isn't that important on our trips as one of our rules is to observe the speed limits in towns and on Motorways.
We had a mini Marcos with us on last years trip which had a low top speed but was very nimble across country.

That's another reason we have two support cars; so there is no pressure to go faster than you feel comfortable.
Brilliant, thank you. I have a 1972 MG Midget with a comfortable cruising speed of about 65-70. It has stretched it's legs once or twice and I'm told they can reach 3 figures but I wouldn't want to try, I have fillings.
It is totally reliable and has already happily trekked into France and is going over to Belgium early next year.

Nice to see a mix of cars as usual, Loti, Clio's, Porsche, Aston and BMW, although we may be slightly overloaded with Italians.....
Pretty certain i know which one will be the most photographed of the lot.........can't wait to follow the XK140 through the mountains!

Just noticed that 9 of the list were on the 2011 Alpine and all but 3 have done at least one trip before.
i guess we need to issue a petrolhead health warning....

PH Tours can be seriously addictive biggrin

Last day of the tour is Saturday - if you leave the hotel after breakfast and stick to the speed limit you'll be at Le Mans by 2pm (so you can have lunch before the races start).

In fact i may well do that myself...
I'll already be there pete so if you or bachi are about ....give me a shout mate

Is this an annual thing?
The trip does sound AMAZING and certainly something I'm putting on my radar. At the moment my evo is running stupidly rich with a shocking fuel economy so I can't actually see it being a viable trip with this car. But am getting a remap in a couple of weeks and who knows, after that the car might become a much more feasible option for next year.....

There are a few clues as to the correct answer to this. One is the title of the tour. The second and arguably more obvious clue comes form the article itself.

Article says said:
For 2012 many of the old favourites from previous years remain...

Dan,

apologies, i somehow missed your question....

Yes it's an annual event, in fact we do several trips a year on behalf of PistonHeads so you can pick which one suits your timings and style best. smile
