I'd love to do this - but along with a whole hoard of ardent petrol-heads I work in the Motor-Trade!

September is the busiest month of the year for us...

Come on Pistonheads - next time do it in May or October please!

Unfortunately our hands are rather tied on this one - many of the roads we use for this tour (the best ones!) are covered in snow in May and October.

The other option is late June or early July, when the snow has gone but before the masses descend with their caravans and motorhomes...
which is when the other Alpine tour runs: http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyI...

I've done the Stelvio a couple of times. You will have a ball no matter what car your in. Me and the wife normally tour every other year. This year it's Le Mans classic then onto Loire Valley (Her bit) and Paris then Reims GP track for me and Champagne shopping for her. Followed by the Nurburgring as the kids are buying me 4 laps for my birthday. Them over to Spa and we are waiting for them to publish track day dates to see if we add that into it all. If your into camping check out this campsite at Le Mans Classic...

This was the show the campsite laid on the Friday evening. Brilliant weekend.
