Phoenix Inn, New Years Day
Discussion
It was the £2.50 for a cup of tea that got me!
I got there about 10 and was thinking it looked a bit quiet, but by the time I left, about an hour later, it was busier than last year!
I'll post up some photos later, but cars come and go all morning (and maybe longer), so unless you stay all day there will be bound to be loads you miss.
A Plymouth Roadrunner - lookalike at least - was arriving as I left and I passed a number of classics and sportscars on the way there as I headed home to Fleet.

Cracking morning, with a massively diverse selection of cars and bikes. Loved the V8 Cortina with the cheeky open manifold! Sounded great!
Here's my photos (camera phone rubbish!)

Regarding the food and Tea/Coffee prices. I don't recall having to pay an entry fee to any of these events? Nor Goodwood Breakfast Club mornings. I look at it as a £5 or £6 pound entry with a free Bacon butty & coffee thrown in for free!!
Works for me anyhow.
^^^^^^^Works for me anyhow.
This. If you don't want to pay the prices, have breakfast before you leave, or go to McDonalds!

Sounds like a bunch of "tight wads", so many people just want something for nothing which gets my goat.
Didn't spot your goat, I guess you must've arrived later.Obviously, it's your choice if you want to pay for a cuppa or a Bacon Sarnie (the latter seemed fair value to me, the former a piss take), but as Phoenix Green is a totally impromptu event, why should anyone be expected to give something for the event itself?
A lot of these 'events' (not Phoenix Green) get my goat as they charge you to display your car and then charge people to look at them and most of those people wouldn't turn up without your classic/whatever to look at. In return you get... errrr.... nothing, not even a Bacon sarnie.
I suppose they're 'Business People' whilst anyone who objects to being fleeced by such people are 'Tight Wads'...?
