. . . smoking front brakes after about 10 laps of braking
you're to be commened shows you look after your car properly

how fast the car goes is of interest how quick and well it can stop is vital

Sounds like a good event, looking forward to further info.

Not planning to lap my car though, do know a few people who would be interested to watch or have passenger rides.

Thoroughly enjoyed it the times I have done it and highly recommended.

Was difficult to sell the TVR last year for some reason. but I enjoyed myself.

Steph, its not a spectator thing really. It's Asda's family day and they invite employee families along
to take part. You could of course offer to help marshall the PH lot if Steve needs the help.

I may not be able to make it this year due to Holiday commitments but we'll see nearer the time.

Who mentioned Nobles? cloud9

Any noise restrictions?
Hi, as Steve's not around at the moment I'll say I don't know but I've not seen any sound testing equipment there on the day

I'd guess if your car is that noisey you're more likely to get pulled on the public roads getting there than at the circuit

the Vulcan bomber used to take off and land there and that's quite loud

for the fast cars the worry is more about having your brake fluid and brakes in good condition before going - and your tyres smile

serious long wide straight then serious bend last year biggrin

awesome, how long is the straight that is used?

Nigel my monaro is a tad loud, but never been pulled by the police. I have been informed that the noise travels approx 2 miles when pushing hard, keeping the revs up biggrin

Also how hard is the surface on tyres?

the course I think can vary depending on year so exactly length of straight can vary, have a look at the place on Google Earth, you'll see it's quite big

what is often overlooked, until the first fast run that is, is that whatever speed you attain towards the end of the long straight needs to be lost to get round the bend

those that don't use their cars enough to fully know them or those that haven't properly prepared their cars may get a surprise or limp around with cooked brakes and tyres

it's large concrete slabs with some uneven joints and some tarmac, depending on how you drive it's not too bad I don't think - but it's a track with long straight and bends so speed and heat with test your tyres - which inclueds braking smile

Had to bail out of this last year but provisionally down to take the Exige with Lotus Drivers' Club. Bit down on top end compared to some of you boys though...

I'm sure Steve'll want you

but Mark can you possibly get whoever you sold the Atom to to bring it along as last year 50% of the public on Steve's gate wanted to go out in the only Atom available until the second Atom turned up after lunch and went on another gate then 70% of the public on Steve's gate wanted the Atom

Hi Nigel. I don't know where my Atom is now unfortunately frown The chap I sold it to, put it up for sale again and I've not heard where it's gone. A post on the Atom Club forum should turn up a car or two, I'd have thought.

It would be great if you can join our gate Mark . Will post up full info in a months time when details are confirmed .
Rumors have it that the organisers are having negotiations with The Red Arrows .
Atom owners would be welcomed as would anybody who feels that the public would pay £5 for you to take them round the track.

you with your Atom sorely missed - you and your Ultima another excellent combination

but don’t bring it if it’s yellow as you know we usually already have a yellow one biggrin

I miss the Atom too frown Still the Ultima should be almost as much fun (still no roof and just a little aero screen) and a lot noisier (LS3 V8)! Am hoping to have it on the road in the Spring, maybe in time for Supercar Sunday.
